I was in between of giving three or four stars. But I will explain myself on what I like and don’t like about this place and then the three stars will make sense. The food is above average compared to other Greek restaurants but it is still a bit commercialised in the sense of making it more touristy, downsizing portions and using sides that are not needed to full the plate. But still the quality of the food is good and especially the meat is tasty. That’s why I say above average. Regarding the place itself, I am not thrilled with the decorations and with what they have done with it. It looks like a Greek tourist trap that I would never set my foot in if it would be in Greece. But living in Copenhagen and being missing the food from time to time I ignore the decorations if the food is worth it! The wine leaves on the ceiling and the painted wall, omg how kitsch! Anyway! The guy owning the place is actually from Crete. He is very friendly but once he was unhappy with someone in the kitchen and started yelling to him so that we could hear him. Not very professional. So all in all I would say go try it out once, it’s not an expensive restaurant and it kind of has a good atmosphere regardless the decorations. PS: things I would NOT order again: Greek salad(too small and full of lettuce rather than tomatoes or feta) and saganaki cheese(not real saganaki). Unfortunately can’t remember more. The souvlaki was good.

OK, so the restaurant has not been cleaned or renovated since it opened decades ago but that doesn’t matter(just don’t look up at the fake greenery strung from the ceiling) because the food is good and you’ll leave really, really full. The restaurant is very small and was filled with locals when we dined(9pm-ish on a Friday night). My husband ordered the gyros and the plate included meat, fried potatoes, rice, hummus, and something else which escapes my mind. The plate DIDNOT include pita which we found slightly strange. The hummus is some of the best I have had and the salt on the potatoes was delicious. I know, salt. Delicious. But it was and it’s a bit pathetic that the salt is part of my memory of this restaurant. Service was good — run by the owner. Menus are available in English and the owner spoke English, so no communication problems here! A nice, quaint restaurant where you can enjoy a quiet night out and stay as long as you want without feeling rushed.

Kat and I went here on my first night in Copenhagen. It was just around the corner from the AirBnB I was staying at so very convenient. Pretty decent food and not pretentious at all.
