Came here for a visit with a few friends for a dinner. I had high hopes as it’s at the«meat packing district». Was very surprised by the authenticity and atmosphere of the place, it really hit home. The food I ordered was some spare ribs with spicy pickles and my friends had buffalo wings and the pork shoulder. We all agreed in unison that the food was excellent and at least my ribs were spiced to perfection. Would most definitely recommend this place to anyone who loved a good meat dish! The beers are also nice and various, with many of their own beers on th menu. All the beers we tried during our visit were very tasty and the staff was very helpful in choosing them!

I went to Warpigs for the first time for their anniversary party and am really looking forward to going back again. As someone who grew up around amazing barbecue(I’m from North Carolina) I feel like I have a pretty good idea of what good barbecue tastes like. I’m happy to say that THIS is it. Warpigs gave me some of the best barbecue I’ve had in my life — which I have to say was totally unexpected. I never thought I’d get such great barbecue outside of the US but I’m so happy I was wrong. The classic barbecue sandwich was so good — it just melted in your mouth. So dangerous because when it’s this good you just want to buy more and more of them. Pair that with amazing Mikkeler beers and you will easily end up here all night if you’re not careful. In addition to the barbecue I was really impressed with their numerous sauces, which reminded me so much of American barbecue restaurants. I recommend trying ALL of them — they are amazing(and, bonus: you can buy them in their little store). Warpigs is right in Kodbyen and has lots of indoor and outdoor seating. If you go on a weekend the lines to buy food/drinks can get pretty long but move quickly. They sometimes sell out of popular beers so make sure to get there early if you don’t want to miss out. The food/beer here is incredible, but you’ll pay quite a bit for it. Normally I’d give a place with great but pricey food 4 starts, but since it’s barbecue and in Copenhagen it gets 5 stars from me!

Very interesting place! Masculine vibe, industrial, not fancy place, where you can get hunk of marinated meat, pickled vegetables, bread and trendy Mikkellers beer. Men like to get their food fast. Maybe that is why nobody is serving at the table. You just come to the cash register, tell them what you want and pay. The food is already made & the meat is cut fresh in front of you. You just grab a tray, food, cutlery, than you go to the beer bar, order beer and the feast can start! Forget organic salad, gluten free bread or low fat diet! This in not that kind of place. War pigs is place full of energy. You don’t come here to wonder about interior. You are in right place, if you are hungry like crazy, you need very tasty protein(marinated meat — US style), you are a beer snob and you have the right buddy to talk to. They hit the spot! I love them. Everybody can find some ‘BUTs”. Of course. But the concept is very unique, clear and targeting specific customers. Good job! Don’t forget! Life is tasty!

Loved WarPigs! Great barbecue choices and delicious sauces. Not to mention the amazing beer choices. There was a free concert going on out front Friday night, too. We had a blast our last night in Copenhagen dining here. We even picked up one of their cool tee shirts.

Hands Down the best BBQ In town — and the sauces… OH the sauces!!’ I’ve taken US keynote speakers and friends here a few times for soul food and good beer. Every time with the same result — an urge to revisit the joint again the next day;)

After a bite to eat at Bakken next door, we had to make a pilgrimage to WarPigs. My limited musical knowledge reminded me that this is also the name of a song by heavy metal demigods Black Sabbath — so I was expecting an assault on the senses. American brewery 3Floyds and Danish brewery Mikkeller made for an interesting collaboration, especially when you throw in Texas BBQ. This large brewpub was a hive of activity and noise, though the background music was at a level that you could still have a conversation without having to use sign language. We sat ourselves down on the bench seating and two of the gang went up to queue for the bar — and there was certainly a lengthy queue. As we waited for beery delights we took in our surroundings. We were close to a glass-fronted private dining space which my friend informed me was for members only. Now this I did not like — brewing culture, to me, is all about inclusion and making it appeal to a wider customer base; throw in some elitist bollocks like a members’ bar and that just sticks in my craw. I liked WarPigs, but this part was more precious metal than heavy metal.

Overpriced & under average barbecue. The food is not spectacular. I tried the brisket, pork ribs, pork shoulder and smoked buffalo wings. The brisket was ok but could be more tender. The pork ribs were chewy and not good. The pork shoulder was ok. The wings were average. Quite disappointed. The price is quite high and does not match the quality of the food at all.

A place for those who don’t know what good American BBQ is supposed to taste like. Warpigs deserves two different ratings: 5 stars for the beer, 2 stars for the BBQ. Warpigs had high hopes in my heart for hiring an American head chef, but in my opinion(and of my North American friends) its reputation is built upon the affiliation with Mikkeller and not the quality of food itself. The beans and Mac? Honestly, they were really good. I had brisket on one occasion, pork shoulder(aka pork butt) on another visit. Both times, they were both incredibly dry(how is that even possible!!!). If I was in the US, where customs allowed so, I would have brought the food back to the counter and asked for a refund. Go to Warpigs for the great beer, but expect only so-so BBQ.

Strolled randomly into the meat packing district and… found more Mikkeller. More than 20 drafts of Warpigs beer. Got some brews and enjoyed the evening. Four stars for beers, one star for food. Meats are all dry, they used old rancid oil to fry the hush puppies(seriously?!), and the coleslaw was too salty. Sorry, I’m just gonna pull that ‘merica a-hole and say that if you can’t make a decent coleslaw, you’re not bbq. This place is like Brooklyn on speed. Hipster/man-bun central, mixed in with grannies. A cool spot to check out and get a drink… only.

War Pig is a concept restaurant that can’t miss if you are in the mood for good meat washed down with great beer. You get your choice of BBQ that you buy by the pound. You add delicious sides and your choice of 20 delicious draft beers. Take your food to your table and add one of four delicious sauces. Try the pork shoulder. It is delicious!!!

Being a vegetarian who is sensitive to yeast this isn’t exactly my choice. I have been twice now with groups of friends and I am always so impressed with the staff’s high level of service, and to be honest I would come back just for those fried pickles alone.

Yes! Yes! Yes! You guys — this is a THREEFLOYDS brewery collaboration in COPENHAGEN!!! How much better can it get? Oh wait — it can! They have AMERICANSTYLEBBQ! From an American chef! I never thought when I came to Copenhagen I’d be dining American style — but it was totally worth it. They are located in the trendy meat packing district in a huge building. Their beers(about 15 – 2 on tap) are amazing — try the milk stout! And their bbq is great. Huge portions, great selection of sauces and so many meats to choose from! Their spicy beef jerky is also to die for! Love this place and will for sure go back when in town!

Phenomenal food(mostly meat) and beer. This place was by far the best meal my friends and I had during our weekend in Copenhagen. The bartender let us try as many of the beers as we wanted, and was happy to recommend certain ones based on the flavours we were looking for. The food was just so well done, and the sauces were spot on. I really recommend the fried pickles. If you’re broke, don’t look at the store of takeaway beers they have next door. We bought a whole growler because we were so happy(cough-drunk-cough) after dinner. Minus one star because of the cramped seating. It was getting kind of messy when we arrived and the night had only just begun.

Meet and beer — whats not to like? The meatpacking district of Copenhagen has this very specific style to it, which some of the restaurants in the district has decided to embrace and some to just ignore it. WarPigs has definitely embraced the style and throwing a lot of benches into the big room is a great way to make seating that fits the style of the building. The second you enter the building, you can smell a lot of smoke, because thats what they do. They do smoked meat in a great great way, and when you order food, its in the best cafeteria-style with plastic trays that you get your food on. I was there with coworkers, so I didn’t get to order anything, but they came with the food to me, so our seats didn’t get taken. The meat was pretty good — some of it was super super juicy, but unfortunately I got some dry meat as well. It can happen, so I ditched that tiny portion and went for some of the other things they had. I’m not particularly good with spicy food yet, so their wings left me sweating for a good 20 minutes afterwards — it tasted nice though! Mikeller delivers the beers, so they were pretty okay. I’m not a big fan, but they were pretty decent, when you paired the beer with the meat. Will I be back? Do I like a lot of meat? YES!

We visited on a Sunday afternoon when it is nice to and calm. The food is BBQ style I tried the chocked it is a little strong but quite nice. My husband tried the pork shoulder and the spare ribs. The pork shoulder was served cold so it was nice but not the best. The spare ribs were way too spiced so hard to appreciate. The Mac and cheese we had as a side order was quite nice. My favorite part of the restaurant was their sodas so cool they have all this natural locally made weird flavors and they taste awesome. Of course it is a restaurant of Mikeller so the beer is good but for me way too expensive the beer for what it is. All in all the place is nice the food is good the price is reasonable and the place and location are very cool.

I finally got to try Warpigs last night, and I’m a fan! I should start by saying that I’m not the biggest beer drinker, but I understand that they know how to make a killer brew. Their cocktails on tap are pretty good, too. The ambiance is rustic, with long tables and benches, and you go to pick up your food and drinks at the counters and pay immediately, so the wait staff only cleans up dirty glasses and trays. In terms of food, you simply put together your own tray of meats and sides. The meats come in either a quarter, a half, or a full pound, and can be combined as you like. I had the brisket, spareribs, and pork shoulder, which were all delicious. For sides, I tried the mac’n’cheese, which I love, but they were a bit disappointing. For me, mac’n’cheese should be made with cheddar, but that might be personal preference. The sauce was nice and creamy, though. Their homemade sauces are killer, too — my favorites were the sweet Kansas City sauce, and the Carolina Gold with sweet mustard. I find prices very fair — for my tray of three quarter-pound meats and two sides, I paid 230kr. I’ll definitely be back for more BBQ goodness!

This is one great idea. The rustic old slaughterhouse were you can still see the hooks and tiles gives a cool and relaxed atmosphere. Great place to go for a delicious handcrafted brew. The food are served on grease-prof paper directly on the tray, no plates or funny servings. We visited as a whole family with my younger siblings, my dad and my own girlfriend and my one year old. Everybody across the the ages had a good time. My daughter happily were munching on the ribs. Even though i am a fan and will surely be back soon i have a couple of issues. I had the shoulder of pork and it were over smoked to the extent that it seemed dry even though its a fatty and delicious cut. it kind of killed the tastes. I am in no way adverse to fat in food where it helps the taste end eating experience. it became to much for my taste with fatty cuts and meat extremely greasy sides. In my opinion it don’t have to become healthy or go green but a little green stuff or herbs could go a long way towards breaking up the uniformly greasy experience.

I’m always impartial when it comes to Warpigs. There were times back in the early days when I absolutely loathed this place because of the impossible number of people trying to cram themselves into the place but now that the«hype» is somewhat back to normal, it is now easier to «enjoy» Warpigs. This place is far from what you called«hyggelig». It has very strong industrial feeling about it with brightly lit lamp above you, long canteen benches and white ceramic tiles on the wall but then again it’s right on the old meatpacking district, so they are probably trying to trigger the«authenticity» of the feel of being in meatpacking district. Apart from beer bar, this is also a BBQ restaurant. I have yet to try their BBQ food yet but they look obscenely delicious. The other time I saw a small Asian girl carrying a large tray with heaps of meat thrown on top and a fork to hold everything together. Obscene, I tell you. I was told that the BBQ was divine, so I must go in and give it a try sometimes, but the list of beer they have is also extensive and you can get really good beer here being the place where Mikeller work together with Three Floyds. The reason I’m giving it three stars is because this won’t be my first choice when I’m looking for beer bar. Sorry, I’m more into cozy beer bar with nice atmosphere and not used to drinking beer under brightly lit fluorescent lamp.

I have been here twice, but it was during events. One of the events was the Octoberfest. Their(very huge) ham hock was not that impressive. My friends and I agreed that they took it out of the smoker a bit too soon. Then there were only three baby potatoes for each plate. That was strange. The second event was the popup menu«arepa». They did such a good job with the(fried) maize flatbread that was nice and crunchy. Out of the three different fillings, I liked their smoked lamb with guasacaca sauce(Venezuelan guacamole) and the black beans with soured spicy cream sauce. Their chicken with avocado and spring onion(Reina Pepiada) was too predictable(I’m glad I ate it last). Before they started serving the arepa, me and my friend ordered some snack. It was their smoked shrimp with fennel cocktail(Wanted to try their daily menu before reviewing their place). That smoked shrimp was good. The fennel sauce was missing something; I couldn’t pinpoint what it was. Then I tried their table sauce, which was hot & spicy bbq made with lambic(a type of Belgium beer) and cranberries. Now that was a good match for both the shrimp and the fennel sauce. Aside from the snack, we ordered some beer as well. My friend ordered no. 14(Warpigs Der Alter). At first when I tried it before the shrimp, I didn’t like it. But after I finished my shrimp, it was a whole new appreciation. It was full and solid chocolate and coffee flavour. Amazing what it does to your taste bud. Then she ordered another one no 16(You f. k me up, and I’m furious). Another strong coffee flavour, with a nice odour. Now I know you’re probably wondering, why I kept on writing about my friend’s beer? What about mine? Forget about it. Even before and after the food, I still didn’t like it. Nothing was memorable. I couldn’t even remember the number on the menu. Overall, a good place. I will come back again to try their ribs :)

An amazing new beer bar in the former meat packing district, the existence of which I was previously unaware. It is not really a ‘hygellig’ place. The seating is on long tables/benches outside. I didn’t notice much space to hang out indoors so am not sure what occurs in winter. Food is of the barbecue variety. The beer is seriously good and that is pretty much all that really matters! Its a collaboration between 3 Floyds(from Indiana) and local brewery Mikkeller. Why just collaborate on a beer, when you can collaborate on a whole pub?!

Well, I have to add a star after my last visit. I got the brisket and beef ribs. They both had quite a bit of fat on them, but the chef was generous with the serving so I didn’t feel cheated at the scale. The brisket comes with two slices of sandwich bread and was moist, though I must say it didn’t taste as good as the one at Barbie. Thankfully I ordered a beer with my meal and got it right away this time. The beans with burnt ends was VERY nice, I’ll probably get that every time from now on. Maybe not the mac and cheese though, it was ok but I think the cheese might have been off or just doesn’t suit this application. In the summer, sitting outside is great. just make sure to grab enough paper towels from the roll and a sauce or two to bring out with you.
