A steak house which you obviously go to when craving for meat. Any other expectations should turn elsewhere. They have two locations in Copenhagen, while this one is rated a bit lower than its brother. Through recommendations and great reviews here, i decided to go here to have a 3-course meal for a change. I started of with their iberico ham which was pleasantly served on a wooden plate in a decent portion. I was also served fresh and tasty bread which i didnt left on the side since i was so hungry. I went for the Uruguayan Entrecôte with rustic fries, a small tomato salad on the side, béarnaise and also extra red wine sauce which i asked for. It was a thick piece of meat, juicy and quite a bit of flavor. It was nothing advanced about this dish, just a piece of meat with some sides to mix it up a bit. To top it of i had their profiteroles, which basically is two cakes with some ice cream in the middle like a hamburger. To this i got a carafe on the side with hot chocolate sauce to merge it all down. This meal was good, i mean really good, with a decent amount of food from starter to dessert, but they do have some things to improve before striking a 5 star review, and one thing is to not charge the customer 60DKK for serving tap water in a jug…

Great little steak place. I went with a friend and we showed up at 6 without a reservation. The place was already packed but we got seats at the bar. The bar only seats 8 and was nice and cozy. We started with the charcuterie plate. A nice size to split, with tiny little quail(?) eggs, slices of sausage and prosciutto. I had the 500g Argentinian ribeye. I’m American so the metric threw me off a bit. It’s good sized steak. Medium well, side of fries and the tomato and basil salad. Fantastic. Really, one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Almost fork tender, nice char crust and just the right amount of bloody inside. Staff was nice and service was fast. I will definitely be back.

Brought 3 colleagues that wanted steak. And steak they were served indeed. Great sear on Greater Omaha ribeye. The Bearnaise is spot on, the fries nicely done. Overall tasty and priced ok. The service was good, not perfect — but ok Not the place to go, if you intent to meet your potential soul made(female). I only counted a handfull women in an almost full restaurant. Apparently steaks are a guy thing :)

How utterly disappointing not to be able to give more than two miserable stars. Ulrik and I had made a reservation for Ulrik’s birthday — and opening night of Retour! We arrived at 7:30 to a half-full restaurant. I think something had gone wrong when they installed the exhaustion as the restaurant was really smoky — almost as if a haze had settled. The restaurant itself is unfortunately a rather dull room, a bit canteen-like without much joy to it. We sat down, look through the paper menus and made our order(important note: if you’re a vegetarian, then there is absolutely nothing here for you — they take ‘steakhouse’ quite literally). The service personnel were quite good and attentive, we were assigned our table by a nice hostess and another and equally nice waiter took our order. And then we waited — and waited — and waited a little longer. And ate the entire bread-basket. Ca 45 later we got our food — I had ordered the burger while Ulrik went for a 400g rib eye Omaha Steak. My burger was OK — the homemade bun was really good, the steak was OK — except that it was more well done than medium rare — while the cheese and the pickled accessories was nothing remarkable. However, I suppose that MAD, Cocks and Cows, Halifax all have better burgers so the burger shouldn’t be why you come here. The stuff that came with the burger were fine, a good ketchup(you can’t go wrong with Heinz), homemade jalapenos mayonnaise, and crisp fries. Ulrik ‘s steak was cooked perfectly, a good piece of juicy meat. His béarnaise sauce, however, could well do with a bit more flavour — but I’m really also spoiled by Ulrik’s amazing bearnaise sauce, so my expectations are high. All in all I have to say this was a somewhat mixed experience. Perhaps it’ll improve once they’ve had the chance to eliminate some of the beginner flaws.
