I’m loving these food stall markets popping up around the world! I opted for the Brazilian meat place where they slice them right in front of you! They gave huge portions even though it’s a tad more expensive. Seating could be difficult especially if you’re a huge group but luckily I was only there with one friend and we sat on the edge of a fireplace. They also sold crème brulee doughnuts there which is a rage in NYC right now but I thought it was just OK… nothing to scream about. Overall people should check this place out if they want lots of options for cuisine choices!

Our in-the-know who is kinda newish-to-the-city friend took us here for a late dinner on our first night in Kobenhavn. This is a warehouse of food stalls essentially along with bars. This seems like a major gathering where people come to hang out with friends to eat and imbibe. There were many types of cultural cuisine to choose from. There is seating in the warehouse area and some funky and urban décor and music(kind of like a club centered around food). The inside gets kind of loud but outside is where the party is at. Lots of young people at this vibrant Kobenhavn culture scene, but no one really raucous and out-of-control. This was surprising to me because people were wielding fishbowl sized vats of alcoholic beverages around. I was also shocked to see glass mason jars housing drinks as well but no signs of broken glass or disorderly people. Trays for the collection of glassware are outside and people clean up after themselves. The view of the water is spectacular and you can see view the stunning opera house(adjacent to it). We were there during sunset and there were some fantastic views while sitting at a picnic table. I enjoyed the local scene and would recommend checking it out if you’re in the area. Because we got there near closing time(10pm) most food stalls weren’t open. Cash is king here as some food vendors don’t accept credit cards. There was variety with food vendors and I would’ve liked to try more of what was offered. Prices can be a bit on the pricey side($ 14USD for a burrito), but you are there for the atmosphere and experience.

A fantastic place to go with friends for that slightly classier evening out(in comparison with pub and a shawarma place) of wonderful cocktails and satisfying street food. There’s a choice for everyone from whether you want a gin & basil cocktail to a boutique beer to whether you want vegetarian Colombian food etc etc. I highly recommend Papirøen despite how crowded it is(that just means it’s good!) and the occasional difficulty finding somewhere to sit. Most of the seating is outside so be careful in the wet weather though.

This was, hands down, one of my favorite spots in Copenhagen! If you’re with a group of people who all like different foods, you’re not sure what kind of «food mood» you’re in, or really if you’re just downright HUNGRY, then this is definitely the place to go! This indoor street food market features a large variety of different cuisines varying in levels of healthiness and cultural influences. My friend and I went to Papirøen on our last day in Copenhagen but we had both wished that we could have gone earlier in the trip because we realized that there were soooo many things that we wanted to try! So, pro-tip #1: go here towards the beginning of your trip because it’s very likely that you’ll want to go back again to try out another food stand. The ambiance of this street food market is on-point and the décor/seating is as good as it gets! I absolutely loved this place(if you couldn’t already tell). ;) My friend and I both got healthy wraps towards the back of the street food market, but that was only after walking through the whole market to check out all of our options. Needless to say, it took a whole lot of willpower not to indulge in all of the other delicious(and less healthy) options! Pro-tip #2: walk around the whole market before you commit to eating at a stand.

I am such a fan of Copenhagen Street Food and bring all my friends visiting Copenhagen here. If you’re here on a visit or live here and haven’t been — definitely go! It’s located right across from Nyhavn in a big warehouse that’s been repurposed into a street food vender hall. First of all — such a great idea. I love when buildings are recycled like this. Second, I love food trucks and since there aren’t many here in Copenhagen this is the next best thing. Think of it as an indoor food truck party of sorts. There are so many options here that I don’t even know where to begin, but I think my favorites have to be Copper & Wheat(international, traditional food — think duck fat fries, crispy chicken) and Brasa(Brazilian). I can’t think of food I’ve tried at any other stalls at Papiroren that I don’t like. The vendors each specialize in what they offer which means you’re getting great versions of whatever you order. Although food-wise this place is perfect for a group, the seating can be a bit of a hassle. This is especially true if you come at peak times or on the weekend. However, if you just get there and are prepared to wander around a bit before finding seating, its not a problem at all. There’s inside seating as well as outside seating and when the weather is nice there are some bars outside as well. If you have a large group you can reserve a table during select times(online). The food and atmosphere is great, but that’s reflected in the prices so don’t expect cheap menu items or drinks from most stalls. I usually go here as a treat or when I have people visiting but not as a regular going out spot.

Hot dogs and baileys lattes! So good. I really dig the atmosphere of this place and enjoyed eating outside on the picnic benches watching the harbour boats go by and listening to the birds. I wish I could come back and try all of the stands but realistically I’d probably just get the hot dog and baileys latte again

We visited Paper Island on our recent trip to Copenhagen. Paper Island is the mother load of all food courts filled with all different kinds of delicious street food and drinks. It’s also located on a canal where everyone can go outside and watch the boats go by. We found the food and drinks to be delicious and we spent a few hours just drinking, eating, and hanging out with visitors and locals alike. This place is also family friendly so it’s ok to bring the little ones. Paper Island is a must see during your visit to Copenhagen!

I love visiting street food at Papirøen, since offers are amazing! Food & drinks in a cozy and different atmosphere, which you can not find somewhere else in Copenhagen. Having some wonderful rainy days during the year, street food is a great place to visit, to get some great food with a good value for money and stay dry :) On the weekends you could listen to a great band or dj playing, which enhances even more the experience :)

Probably one of my top spots to enjoy a summer afternoon in Copenhagen. Papirøen is situated right next to the Copenhagen Opera House, offering a majestic view of the canals. The place offers a pretty good variety of foods and drinks, from turkish delicacies, to an unconventional duck burger. Don´t forget to give a try to the wonderful selection of drinks(although you will surely see it by the time you reach the exit back to the deck. Don´t worry if you catch a crazy day(Friday and Saturday), with long lines — they move pretty fast, just so you can get a glance over what they´re cooking and wonder why you haven´t ordered a double portion. Now sit back and enjoy the view, you´ll most probably get to see people riding their boats, and locals relaxing next to you with good tunes.

This is definitely the hip youngster party spot for the young hipster food and chill scene. Along the water iutside(at least in late spring /summer an early fall) there are various food stands and beverahe places inside. Picnic style indoor /oitdoor seating. Can’t give it 5 stars because the food I saw and tried wasn’t really earth shaking or cheap, but for the experience and to get a burrito or some other ethnic street foods on kffer, this is a hip spot. There’s also a nice upscale food hall on the other side by some nice parks. Check it out:.Hala Targowa.

Einfach 1 toller Markt.

This place is a must when in Copenhagen! If you love street food, then you’ll love this place. There’s tons of stands inside the building, and it’s almost overwhelming to choose what to eat. Definitely take a walk around to scope out all the stands, and look for free samples! Some of my groups favorites were the duck sandwich and crepes. Outside of the building with all the food are a bunch of picnic tables to enjoy your food at. We went on a beautiful warm, sunny day so it was packed, but we were still able to find a few spots to sit. This is also situated right along the canal, so you’ll also have some nice scenery as you eat. If I’m ever in Copenhagen again, this will be my first stop!

This place came highly recommended and apparently for good reason! If you’re familiar with Street Feast or Dinerama in London, you’ll find yourself completely at home here, only it’s easier to find a seat. Since it was my first time in Denmark I had to go with the smorrebrod — a slice of Rye topped with breaded fish, roumelade, dill and capers — a great choice. The seating outside is right on the waterfront and absolutely glorious on a sunny day. While inside it’s warm and cosy. The décor is super cool, with every part down to the toilet doors carefully selected to create the required vintage vibe. Papiroen is a must if you’re in CPH!

Really love this place! There’s always a new kind of food here you haven’t tried yet! They usually display their food as well so you can get a sneak peek before you order. The shop owner are usually happy to speak about their dishes coming from all corners of the world. With resident dj’s on the spot you’re ensured a nice chill session every time you go and whenever something extraordinary is happening you can be sure it’s gonna be a great party! Bring you shades and your big wallet since it’s a bit pricy, but so worth it! The view of the canal and the beautiful opera house is great and with bonfires in the evening, makes it complete. WC facilities could be improved though, It’s especially tough for the ladies, standing in lines for ridiculous long in peaking hours. You’re almost never gonna stand in line for a drink though — there’s just too many bars for that to happen

This place draws thousands of people during the summer. And what’s not to love? If the weather’s good, the outdoor lounge chairs along the dock creates a perfect setting for nights out with friends and the buzzing tempo creates a live and vibrant atmosphere. If the weather is acting up, there’s always the indoor section. There’s no arguing about where to go to eat, because literally almost every country is represented here in the food division. The cocktails from the cocktail bar are refreshing and good and the cheesecakes are like pure enjoyment in your mouth. As my friend put it… The only thing bad to say about this place is that you can’t possibly buy everything on the menu.(But you will want to).

My husband and I came here because we were taking a hop on/hop off boat tour and it was mentioned that this was a place that natives in Copenhagen come here because it was the cool place to go. There were seats/picnic tables outside(and inside) for people as well as a fire for people to sit by to keep warm. Onto what was inside… all I can say is wow! There were so many options that I didn’t know what to pick! There was pizza, burgers, sausages… and whatever you could crave, you will probably find here. Some places take credit card. Some places only take cash. Make sure you ask if you want to use your credit card or just bring cash with you. And of course… they sell alcohol! I wish they would have something like this in Milwaukee, Wisconsin!

It’s Sunday, it’s raining however it’s a great day so far as I’m spending it with my girlfriend(indoor) at the Street market food! It’s kind of a food trucks district and you can try from Korean to Brazilian food, most of the main countries are represented. A piece of advice for rainy cold days, go directly save a seat in the back next to the fireplace. Then just explore and try some bites here and there, make sure to try local draught beers… I’m currently having an IPA made in Copenhagen! Great cool place to be, close to the«free town», might check in later over there!

I hate to be a black sheep here, but Paper Island was just average to me. I’ve been to better food court areas like in NYC, Pike’s Market, food trucks at SF parks, or even Torvehallerne in CPH. The food here was all lacking in flavor and lines were long everywhere. It’s also very crowded, with limited seating. Paper Island is a cool concept, but I don’t think it was executed very well… not to mention food was pretty pricy for what it was worth. The surf n turf stand gave us COLD fries and a cold burger. Ugh. And the curry from the Indian stand tasted sour… even Trader Joe’s $ 3USD chicken tikka masala is better than that! A local actually recommended us to visit Christiana and then hop on over to Paper Island to build an appetite.

This place is awesome! Not near a metro but it is worth the walk to work up an appetite! Right next to the Experimentarium, we were famished after having fun. With the view of the canal, the Opera house and Amalienborg, the walk next door was a delight! When you enter, it is overwhelming the choices you have to make! I reserved a table and am glad I did, around 7pm, it gets busy and tables fill up fast! The smells and variety makes it super hard to choose and if you for the more popular places, be prepared to wait. From Danish food to vegan Colombian. The food is delicious and satisfying. I will make a trip here again! My sons loved it too! This is a must on your visit to Copenhagen.

Hello everyone, I am in food heaven here. I think I would dream/talk about this place for a long time. They have food truck/stands with all different types of cuisine. The sanitary is really good and you can feel quality in ingredients. The people behind the food stands are welcoming and is willing to make you sample any food you’d like before purchasing. I was overwhelmed with the choice and ended picking up my lunch from 3 – 4 vendors to try the different cuisines. I would love to sit here and eat from all the stands and watch the sea and boats passing by with a happy crowd and a sunset warming our hearts. I found my food heaven in the place of the Street Food Copenhagen.

A very swish /up market indoor food market down by the river near Osterport. More than 20 different food trucks, cafes and bars fill a cavernous space — along with comfortable indoor seating, a roaring fire, plenty of heaters round the edge and at least three bars offering various local beers and an array of craft cocktails. Definitely do a full circuit of everything on offer before you commit to anything — we loved all the samples we gobbled on our way round! I can’t possibly comment on all the options inside but the pad Thai my sister had and the more traditionally Danish smørrebrød I had were delicious. A great place to go with a group if you can’t agree on what you want to eat — and just a great atmosphere — and it’s close to the water for a post lunch potter to work up an appetite for afternoon pastries. Perfect!

My 200. post on Unilocal goes out to the wonderful Copenhagen Street Food market!!! My host in Copenhagen recommended that place to me as I was looking for a cheap place with good food. The Street Food market is located near the opera house and has a gorgeous waterfront. So you can sit outside and enjoy your meal. Inside the hall which looks a bit like an old factory hall, there are 35 food trucks which offer food from all over the world! You almost get everything here :) Nice pasta, delicious burgers and fries, fish and chips, various sandwiches… and one of the best cheesecakes I have EVER eaten :) Best thing ist, that these delicious things aren’t that expensive ;) You usually pay between 50 and 120 Kronen for food. I tried the great«Salmon Lasagne» with in duck-fat fried chips. Yummie!!! And of course I ate some pieces of the various cheesecakes ;)

Great selection of food from all over the world for decent prices and often with student discount. Recommending all the Mexican trucks, this is divine. It’s difficult getting here without a car or any other kind of transport since the location is a bit off. It can get a little cold since its on a pier, it gets windy, so wear a jacket. Also… Be wary of opening hours since its seasonal so you might end up going for nothing.

I was planning to visit this place since I heard it had many different food stalls, unfortunately the information they had on their website was wrong and the winter season hours is different. Apparently, during the winter, they are only open on Thursday-Sunday from 12pm till 21:00 or 22:00. It sucked that this place was closed because my friend and I walked all the way out to the location for nothing. It’s location is way out of the way from city centre… So if you are from or near the central station and plan on walking to this place make sure you allocate an hour. The path is a bit dodgy and out of the way, but it has a great view of the city and two beautiful building– the national library and the opera house. My suggestion is to use a bike of u can when u go and make sure it’s open. Exploratory city is next to it, but not sure what that is about
