Italian pizza done right! Great atmosphere and an open kitchen where you can see them make and cook the pizza in a a stone oven. Everyone clearly loves the pizza because it is always a full house. Even if you have a reservation expect to have to wait to be seated. Last time we had a 30 min. wait so we just grabbed a couple cocktails at the bar. The first time I went there I accidentally ordered a pizza without cheese thinking it was margarita(stupid me), and without any question the waiter took it back and brought me a margarita in less than 10 mins. Essentially, don’t arrive starving, and go when you are willing to take it easy… but go!

I don’t usually get excited about pizza, but the Neapolitan style is my jam, so I was pretty pumped about Mother. The restaurant was packed when we arrived and we were quoted a 20 – 30 minute wait, so we hung out in the even more packed bar. No problem, we grabbed some beer and cosied up at one of the low tables. On a warmer night, we may have put the benches outside to use. I didn’t bring my stopwatch, but I don’t think we waited for more than 30 minutes before we were brought to our table. There are lots of pizzas to pick from and you can’t go wrong with any of them. And might I add that the live basil at each table was a nice touch. We had zero problems with the service, the staff was very laid back and friendly and were there when we needed. Overall, I’d say, winner, winner, pizza dinner.

Unbelievably bad service which the Pizza unfortunately couldn’t make up for. –Waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for the table after being told that it would take 30 – 40 minutes –Had 3 servers at the same time, neither of whom felt the need to actually take care of us –Waited another 20 minutes for the menu card after being seated –And another 30 minutes to pay the check So even though the pizza was good, I would not recommend this place which is highly understaffed with fairly rude employees

This place was highly recommended to us. The wait was unbelievable. The host told us 30 – 40 min and we waited more than 1 hour. He kept adding minutes and was not apologetic. The pizza was good but not worth more than 1 hour wait. I would not recommend going there if there is a wait.

Direct quote from my husband«This is the best pizza I’ve ever had. I think it’s better than Italy.»…and that, my friends, says it all! Seriously, their pizza is amazing! When you go, you’ll have a wait. But they have a little bar you can wait in or you can grab a drink from another bar in the meat packing district. Start with the burrata — you won’t regret it. The fresh tomatoes and basil and olive oil on top are perfection. And their pizza — it’s just mouthwatering good. I wanted to stop eating it, but I just couldn’t. The perfectly burnt crispy yet not too crispy crust, the fresh tomato sauce and the housemade fresh cheese. Yum yum yum. I wish they had a London location, because I would live there.

«I can’t lie to you about your chances but… you have my sympathies.»

The restaurant is very crowded and rightly so. Even though Im not a huge fan of pizza, this one was absolutely delicious. I also had the ricotta nutella dessert which was interesting and quite good. However, be prepared for a long wait. I walked in around 6 pm on a Friday and was given an estimated wait of 40 minutes, which in reality turned into a weight of well over an hour. The bar /waiting area is a little small with little seating and was of course crowded since so many people were waiting for tables so we sat outside in the cold for a bit.

Mother is by far the best pizza in Copenhagen! Located in a trendy(but new) part of town, it captures the very essence of the meat packing district. The tables and atmosphere are very hygge(cozy) and the staff is very pleasant. The wine list is fantastic, and they have a nice assortment of cocktails, which I enjoyed as we waited for our table. It can get quite crowded, especially on the weekends, so I would recommend making a reservation in advance. The first time I went there I ordered my own pizza(the Prosciutto) and had to take half of it home, however, the second time we(a group of six) shared four pizzas and we devoured them all! And I left perfectly content, and quite flushed!!! If my wallet could handle it, I would go back to Mother every weekend! Simply the best.

In my opinion the best pizza in copenhagen! Better than gorm’s. Better than neighbourhood. The sourdough is spot on, and a great selection of toppings and flavors. The porcella I got was awesome! The cubes of mushrooms are cooked just perfectly and are very juicy. I also recommend the espresso martini! It was a great drink.

I was so overwhelmed. I received a tip from my hotel bartender that this place had the best pizza in the city, he wasn’t being glib. The atmosphere is warm and classy and the staff are very accommodating. The food is where it’s at though. Dear good is that pizza spectacular. Real spontaneous sourdough crust and organic toppings cooked in a brick fire oven. They even have Italian craft beer. I loved this place, it single handedly was the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life.

Visited Mother(myself and one other) on Friday night around 18:00. We didn’t have a reservation, so we waited about 35 minutes for a seat in the restaurant. Thankfully they have a little bar and waiting room at the edge of the restaurant to sit in while we waited for our seats; it was a small and crowded space, but we were able to order drinks and it beat waiting out in the cold. We were seated near the entrance of the restaurant at a long and awkward table. I sat across from my dining partner but my seat was such that I was trapped by people sitting on both sides of me without enough room to walk behind the other diners. Thankfully, I didn’t have any type of emergency, but it felt a little claustrophobic. We ordered two pizzas, and they came quite quickly. This restaurant did two things I haven’t seen before: 1) they don’t cut the pizza and 2) they put toppings right in the middle of the pizza for the person eating to distribute as they may. Perhaps this is common in Europe, it’s not something I’ve seen. Otherwise the pizzas were really tasty, and the service was quite efficient but not personal, if that’s something you care about. We didn’t get drinks, so our final bill was around 270DKK.

This place was on my list of «must try’s» while in Copenhagen thanks to some prior research on Unilocal.Mamas is conveniently located in the old meat packing district and is very easy to navigate to from the metro and/or bus. We were staying in Frederiksberg and it was only a 15 minute trek. We were here celebrating my older brothers wedding(pre-celebration) and it was the perfect location. We dined on a Sunday evening and it was completely packed so we started outside for appetizers and a few drinks. We started with ordered s few anti-pasta plates that included salami, marinated veggies, and prosciutto. We also had what I would call a garlic bread pizza. All were phenomenal. For our main dish we ordered about 10 different pizzas. I think I had almost all of them and can honestly say they were all fantastic. Thin crust pizza either drizzled with olive oil or pizza sauce before being topped with salami, tomatoes, proscuitto, mozzarella, basil, or leafy greens. The pizzas were amazingly light but packed with flavor. A must try for any pizza lover out there or anyone looking for a good meal. The wine selection is also pretty good with most coming from Italy. I’m getting hungry again just writing about it!

Having the girlfriend visiting means the search for good places to eat is rampant again. Brunch in particular, because who wants to get up early enough for breakfast? Looking for the best brunches in Copenhagen brings up a variety of results, and Mother was one of them. Since we stayed at the abysmal Tivoli Hotel at the time, I suggested a nice walk to Kødbyen — a decision I would come to regret when we passed throughthe Skelbæksgade entrance. The smell was out of this world. And not in a good way. That being as it may, we made it to Mother and were impressed with what we saw. I can’t say I was super impressed with the price — 160DKK is a lot for brunch. But that being said, it did include juices/water/milk and lots of really good pizza on top of the other stuff. And when we started eating, I quickly forgot about the price(it was half price for kids — yay). The food was really amazing. Lots of interesting little plates of food that seemed to change with each new visit to the buffet. It was fresh and delicious and seemed to be cooked by people who enjoyed their job. Weird thing to sense in a buffet, but there we are. Also there were no empty plates waiting for refills. The chefs made food on the fly, so when something ran low, another dish replaced it. It gave us the feel of an abundance of food. Positive. As always with really good buffets I end up leaving feeling like I didn’t try everything! Several places claimed Mother had the best pizza in town. I don’t know if I’m qualified to say one way or another, but it was really good pizza. And it was made by authentic Italians as far as I could tell, further proving my long standing theory, that Italians make better pizza the further away from Italy they are. Pizza in Italy is no bueno. Pizza from Italians outside of Italy usually is. But that’s just a pet theory of mine. The pizza at Mother was very good indeed. And very fresh. The service was good if perhaps a mite impersonal. But I don’t need to be hovered over, so I might just go and chalk that one up as a positive too. The only thing that miffed us was that they could not make us a cocktail. At 11am that seems weird. And slightly disappointing. But perhaps that isn’t really the way over here.

We’re talking about brunch here. I love all you can eat brunch buffets, don’t get me wrong, and this one isn’t bad at all but the whole experience was a bit meh. The quality of the food was good, but of course it’s all you can eat so it’s not going to be anything amazing and I felt that the price was quite high. There is a nice variety of food though, everything from pasta to yogurt and muffins, some pizza’s, potatoes, greens, juice. That’s nice. We didn’t need to wait around noon on a Sunday to sit(it was rainy), not were there real queues for the food, but overall the whole experience was just okay for me. Check it out if you’re in the mood for all you can eat brunch, but I don’t think I would repeat my visit here. Nothing to see, move along.

I have seen heaven on Earth and it is a place called ‘Mother’ in Copenhagen on a Sunday. Full on, ‘double rainbow’ joy is to be found there in the form of an impeccably prepared ‘all you can eat’ brunch buffet, my feelings on which I shall attempt to articulate in a more useful, rational way below. Upon arrival you are greeted and seated by typically friendly and warm Danish staff, at which point 169KR gets you unlimited access to a range of FANTASTIC food in a super chilled out environment in a cool part of town. The food includes: incredible pizza, a bunch of fresh, a range of well sourced and freshly prepared salads that you would otherwise pay for through the nose in London, multiple juices and a whole bunch of fruits and breads. Each table even has a fresh basil plant you can take leaves from to garnish your food. Put it this way: if I lived in Copenhagen I would not leave, instead choosing to hide under the tables between Sundays so that I could emerge on a weekly basis for one of the most enjoyable restaurant experiences to be had in the city.

When my friends and I were staying in Berlin, this was recommended to us as the best pizza in Copenhagen. Having not had any other pizza in Copenhagen, I can’t really say whether or not it lived up to that reputation. I can only say that we all thought the pizza was fine, but nothing to write home about.(We’re American; we’ve had a lot of pizza.) In addition to the pizza(which had nice fresh mozzarella and basil; it was the dough that was a bit underwhelming) we also ordered a few bruschette(a couple were great, a couple were just OK) as well as a daily special with oxtail and potatoes, which was the big hit at our table. I think if we were ever to come back, we’d actually be quite interested in trying more of their non-pizza dishes. It’s obvious they have a commitment to good ingredients and simple, well-made food. The restaurant itself is charming and bright. We really enjoyed the vibe. Service was friendly and attentive(though it was a Wed afternoon, so it wasn’t super busy or anything). Prices were reasonable, and they did accept our US credit card(with chip).

Want to dinner in a hip place? The restaurant is located in the up and coming area Kødbyen, or the meatpacking district if you want. If you want to be cool(…or pretend you are) this is a place you should check off your list right away! This trendy place serves great Italian food, and the number one is the sourdough pizza witch is prepared in an open kitchen with a wood fired oven. Mother luckily offers some vegetarian options, in addition to the standard Margatita. That’s a big plus! Mother is likely to be packed, but if you want to wait for a free table you can wait in the bar.

I have only heard bad about this place, but still wanted to try it out for myself, which I probably shouldn’t have :) Service was extremely bad, bad atmosphere and the pizza was like eating rubber. I am trying to think if I had worse pizzas and the only I can think of that reminds me of this place, are those cheap microwavable pizza you can buy. So if you like cheap microwavable pizzas, you should definitely go here. The one thing the restaurant has going for it, is that it is in a hip area, so I would assume they make a living as a typical tourist trap restaurant.

Hygge atmosphere, tasty pizza that’s completely unexpected– it’s delicious in its simplicity and completely understated and surprising. Our waitress was kind and attentive. I love the meat packing district here, so full of great food and if you’re in the mood for pizza, this is probably your #1 choice. Loved their wine, dessert and liqueur selection — the ricotta and Nutella calzone was a big deal at our table!

Pizza was good… I’ll give them that. But sitting for 40mins waiting to get a menu and then waiting another 20mins before getting noticed to order(watching others get service) doesn’t deserve a good rating regardless of how good the food. Perhaps because I sat alone at one of the large picnic tables it was hard to notice me. But a customer eating solo is no excuse. I should mention before I got a menu, I was asked by a couple to join me at the table. Of course… I’m taking up this while table unnecessarily. The received a menu within mins of siting down… they had to point me out to waiter. He returned and took their order and then have me their menu. And then I waited 20mins to order. I would have ordered more than pizza, as I was hungry, but I didn’t have all night. I just wanted to leave.

Oh heavenly mother! The best brunch you can find in Cph! I should give 4 stars because of the busyness of the waiters and the whole place, but the food is too good to lower my rating! I mean when an Italian says a pizza is good, then it just is! And all my Italian friends eat here all the time. I have been here numerous times for the brunch. Never for a dinner so I don’t know how busy they are at the time but it is hard to get a table for brunch. So come with patience. Also because of the high amount of people coming and going the poor waiters are running like maniacs so it is a bit hard to reach to them. But it’s ok! The food is good, just sit down and enjoy! And they are despite all friendly. The brunch includes freshly baked pizza coming out of the oven every 5 mins. So you should be keeping your eyes open for the new pizza when you sit there. Apart from the pizza(which is DELICIOUS) they have several kind of salads with pasta, lentils, veggies, you can find it all. They also make some other dishes like potatoes with ham. There is a cheese plate where you can cut a piece of cheese from 3 – 4 different kinds. I don’t really eat cheese but my friends say they are amazing. You also get dessert. It’s usually fruits, yoghurt, musli, jams, nutella and freshly baked muffins. And for drinks you can just pour as much of juice you want from 2 – 3 kinds. The interior is quite plain. They use a lot of wood and they have these awesome red lamps made from bottles on top of the kitchen. Outdoors there is plenty of seating for the warm days. Really worth trying! It is a bit expensive, can’t really remember right now how much(maybe 145dkk), but it is worth it. At least for once!!!

I went there for a Sunday brunch, and I would in total give between 3 and 4 stars. They open at 11am, which can be a tad bit late for some, but for me it’s okay for brunch. Their brunch is a buffet, and the emphasis is clearly on the«–unch» part, rather than the«br»! They have a great selection of salads, cheeses, pasta salad, cold cuts etc., but the more classic breakfast section is relatively restricted, some fruit, yogurt with muesli, and some jams. But they did have delicious little muffins, which were really great. The big, big plus are the pizzas that are baked outside in a stone oven. Great thin crust and delicious toppings. I’m giving 4 stars in the end not least because of the lovely interior and the delightful atmosphere. Their coffee is good, too. Update: Finally made in to Mother again, for dinner this time, and I’m a huge fan of their pizzas. I think they are absolutely amazing! It was a Tuesday but the place was packed anyways. Service was a bit chaotic, bringing us the wine we had ordered with our food while we were still drinking our aperitifs(and hadn’t gotten our pizzas yet). Their panna cotta is delicious, not so sure about the nutella calzone, but if try it, if you’re into that sort of thing. This will probably become my go-to pizza place! 4 stars well deserved.

Great pizzas, good beers, very reasonable in prices for Copenhagen. –Bruschetta: we ordered 3 and it was the server couldn’t tell us what we’ll get because they change the bruschetta toppings every time. We got one with baby tomatoes, one with a tuna like topping, and another with a hummus like topping. It was pretty good, very fresh, although we didn’t have the option of picking which one we wanted more. –Prosciutto pizza: The prosciutto was scrunched in the middle, so you have to spread it on the pizza. The arugula was a bit weird for the pizza and didn’t bring any flavor to it, it kinda took away flavor, but it was still a good pizza –Pepperoni pizza: the pepperoni was a spicy pepperoni and it wasn’t like anything I ever tried. It was good, I say you must try the pepperoni pizza! We couldn’t get a table inside, but there were plenty of tables outside(kinda cold though-but they provided blankets)

I’m not sure there are many people in Copenhagen that will argue with me that Mother serves, by a landslide, the best pizza in Copenhagen. The crust is made of naturally fermented sourdough bread, cooked in a wood fired oven, and the ingredients on top are fresh, and not too excessive, nor too minimalist. Pricing is fair for restaurant prices(cheap if you go for the margherita). Worth mentioning, and the reason behind which I have removed a star, is that I have yet to have a flawless service experience, and I’ve been here quite a few times. There seems to be a pretty big turn-over in the staff, and I get the impression that people don’t really communicate well behind the counter. Orders often get mixed up or forgotten, I’ve been charged for something I didn’t order twice, and a couple times I’ve waited more than an hour to get my order. The good news is, the owner of the restaurant is pretty much ALWAYS there, and if you say something, he usually makes up for it somehow. When they’re busy it’s a bit harder to get this to happen, but I guess it’s a redeeming quality. Pro-tip: don’t come here if you’re starving on the off chance you won’t eat immediately. But do come with a healthy appetite, because once you do get your food, you will not be disappointed. Also, fantastic and plentiful picnic bench style outdoor seating in prime sunlight during summer months — a fantastic place to split a bottle of rosé or three amongst friends.
