Green is the new HOT! Just returned from a month in Scandinavia and the Hotel Alexandra was our first home. I would have to say while there are several great reasons to stay here, there are a couple that knock it out of contention for me. One, if you have a room on the street be forewarned that it is going to be NOISY! I noted this in several reviews on TripAdvisor and requested a room in the rear, but alas upon our arrival that request could not be fulfilled. Two, and this is part and parcel to One, you must be aware that there is no air conditioning in the rooms at Hotel Alexandra. When we were there, it was so hot that we had to leave the windows open for fear of dying from heat prostration. So it was either be up all night with the noise or expiring from the heat. The room did possess a small, cheap, noisy fan but it did little to dissipate the heat. In the hotel’s favor, we were moved to the rear of the property after the first night. With that however, it was still extremely hot in the room, if not loud. Getting past One and Two, as others have said, the hotel is very well located from a tourist point of view, the staff is friendly and professional, and the breakfast included is very pleasant. I would not say the rooms were exceptionally furnished but they were clean and cheery. Final take, Hotel Alexandra touts itself as being a «Green Hotel» and includes the fact that there is no air conditioning in that description. I do not believe having no air qualifies any property as being«Green.» Would we stay at Hotel Alexandra again? Probably not, especially if we were faced with being in a street side room, even when the weather is not warm. Humbly submitted, Moi

First time and we will be back. Our room was beautiful, with original mid century furniture, a cute little bath with a powerful shower. Don’t forget the complimentary glass of wine in the evening, amongst more amazing furniture. If you love mid century furniture or you are a collector as well, you will appreciate the effort they’ve put into the hotel.

LOVED our stay at the Hotel Alexandra! First of all, we stayed here because we love mid-century design. If that’s not your thing, this hotel may not really appeal to you. Our room was outfitted with vintage Danish mid-century furniture, including a desk set/shelf set. The lobby has some beautiful mid-century chairs and some cool postcards and posters for sale. Pros: + short walk to Copenhagen Central train station and even closer walk to Vesterport metro station. + close to Tivoli. + ORLAKIELY toiletries(I absolutely love Orla and was kind of over the moon about this) + free WiFi in the rooms, flat screen TV, Bluetooth speaker system for playing music. +++ AWESOME staff. We got there hours before check-in and stopped in to drop off our bags and they said a room was already ready so they let us check-in early with no problems or extra charges. Upon check-out, my BF accidentally left a ring in the room and the hotel found it and shipped it back to the States for us. Amazing service. + bike rental(we didn’t use it because it was too rainy while we were in CPH) + daily breakfast buffet(can’t remember if we had to pay extra for it) at next door restaurant – pretty good. Included hot items, cheeses, meats, bread, pastries, waffles, yogurts, cereals, juices, teas, and coffee. + the hotel gave us an option to forego room cleaning every day for which they would give a 100DKK voucher per day, up to 3 days, for the restaurant(LeLe Street Kitchen). We were able to do this for our 3 day stay and use our 300DKK vouchers for dinner on our last night! It was pretty awesome, especially in a city that is notoriously expensive! Cons: — no A/C(for Americans we aren’t really used to this). We opened our window when the room got stuffy, but couldn’t sleep with the window open because the church nearby chimes every 15 minutes. It was a little too noisy for me. — our toilet seemed to have an issue w/running and making that annoying running noise.

Excellent Hotel Fora stay in Copenhagen! IT is located downtown next to the railway Station. The Place is furnished with Danish Design and doing a lot for beeing a green hotel! Perfect cleaned rooms, friendly staff, parking around the corner, bicycle rental, a restaurant with Vietnam cuisine. We recommend this place to everyone going to Copenhagen!!!

Nice hotel with a very central location. My room was quite big and dressed out in original Danish design of the middle of the last century. The design part might be enticing and intriguing for some, whereas I honestly didn’t care much for it.(Shame on me!) The lobby of the hotel is connected directly with the Vietnamese restaurant Lele next door, which also functions as the hotel restaurant and bar. Personally, I didn’t like the restaurant so much, so I grabbed a beer from there and placed myself in the really cozy lobby one evening. I really liked that — similar to many other hotels in Copenhagen — you can rent bicycles from the reception and do tours of the city from here.

Great Location, very close to the city(Stroged etc.). We had a small room, which was clean and enough space for a young couple(but not with 70s furniture), maybe because we had a very cheap special offer. The bathroom did not have a window, but a bath. There was the option to get fresh towels and a room clean every day. If you did not need these services you got a voucher for the asian hotel restaurant. You have to pay for tv, but there i free wifi access. The continental breaktfast was served in the(asian) hotel restaurant, it was very tasty with fresh bread, juice, eggs and there was the possibility given to bake waffles. It was the best hotel breakfast I ever had! We rent bikes from the hotel(½ day), the price was ok and the bikes comfortable. The stuff was firm in lots of languages(english, german, danish.) I would definately check in this hotel again!!!

I loved every little bit about it. Great location, lovely staff, plus stylishly decorated public spaces. Rooms look like straight out of the seventies. Rooms are not posh but rather quirky, full of furniture which looks slightly thrift-shop-ish(but at the same time it is weirdly stylish). Give it a try, it is a fun place for a long weekend stay.

i had a really nice stay here for a few days after the roskilde festival. the hotel is centrally located and you can rent bicycles from the hotel which makes getting around the city so much easier. the lobby had some really lovely danish furniture exhibits. the restaurant attached offers a really yummy breakfast special and in the afternoon turns into a delicious vietnamese fusion style restaurant. we booked a «danish design room» the hotel has a few of these and the individual rooms pay homage to famous danish designers by either having pieces inspired by their designs. the rooms are large and airy(or at least the one we got was) and filled with traditional danish modern furniture. i understand the concept of minimalism with danish design but i did feel the room was missing a little something. and the art hanging on the walls seemed a little eh. either way it was a nice stay and i’d recommend to friends.
