Disappointing experience. While the space is pretty, our enjoyment ended there. When we ordered the special Christmas cocktail, they did not have the ingredients. Dinner came flying out of the kitchen ten minutes after we ordered it lukewarm. No time to enjoy our cocktails. No bread was brought even though we asked for it. No frites came with our dinner even though we ordered them. Terrible service. A strangely cold, off-putting experience with a high price tag.

Went to Maven on a work networking dinner and had a lovely evening. One good entrée, one great main dish and an amazing dessert. Maven is located in the back of a church and we got sat on the top floor, amazing location and environment. Bread and a delicious mayonaise were served as soon as we sat down. Scallops for starter, duck for main dish and chocolate mousse and nougat ice cream for dessert. Along with a very nice white and red wine. Amazing quality food, very nice staff and overall a really good experience!

A great, cozy, unpretentious restaurant in the heart of Copenhagen. The restaurant is part of a beautiful old church. The food is classical dishes; well prepared and presented with fresh ingredients. Wine list is extensive and surprisingly good and affordable. Highly recommended.

Excellent food, beer and location! The location is amazing, it’s so cozy to sit outside in their small patio. I had pork with blue potatoes and broccoli, simple but cooked to perfection. Will eat here again next time I’m in Copenhagen!

Amazing, delicious, not too pricy for the quality of food. Best meal we had in Copenhagen. Portions are smallish but enough for us without getting an appetizer. Wine list starts at 300 kr per bottle and there isn’t much on the per glass list.

My Wife and I are visiting Copenhagen and stopped in for lunch during a shopping excursion. What a great restaurant. We enjoyed the lunch cuisine, the ambience, and the staff were especially pleasant. We are planning to go back for dinner since we enjoyed the lunch so much.

My husband and I ventured off the beaten tourist road and stumbled into the paradise known as Maven. It was heavenly, and not just because of its blissful setting in Copenhagen’s third oldest church — although that made it way cool, for sure. The food was to die for — the fish soup was the most delicious and adventurous seafood soup I have ever tasted, and the rib-eye and duck three-course dinner my husband ordered was equally delectable. Just as much as the food, the ambiance and the impeccable service made the evening an experience to remember. Co-owner Thomas gives his all — and had us leaving not only as patrons but as friends. Thomas, Peter, Christian, Heidi, and everyone at Maven: thank you for making our first trip to Copenhagen so special. We look forward to seeing you again anon!

What a great place! The staff is delightful and helpful. Mavens is in an old church in a beautiful location off the main tourist strip. Quaint and lovely. The local micro brewed beer was very good and the menus is varied and interesting.

The portions of the dishes leave your belly wanting more — not of the same dish, but of more food. The interior of this place is stunning with chandeliers and long candle-lit sticks on each table(kind of reminded me of Beauty & the Beast dinner scenes). The ambiance is very warm and is on the side of an old church, which is now used for art exhibitions. The servers are very attentive and sweet. I had the chicken salad which came in some mini-masen jar. it was cute and tasted yummy. On the side, there were pickled beetroot and bacon which actually tasted well. My friend and I realized that the Scandinavians enjoy salty cuisine, so if you’re not used to salt, you may find most dishes to be on the salty side. But, I would recommend this place… after all, it is Michelin rated.

Allez-y.

Fine cuisine. Just a little bit too salty. The location is unique, well situated not far from the main shipping street. The waiters are very polite and helpful. Worth a visit.

Once upon a time, on a chilly winter night stroll, Mr. & I were lured to the soft candle light emanating from this place. It seemed nearly magic. We vowed to be back for dinner in some other occasion and tonight we are glad we finally did. We were greeted by vintage jazz(40’s?) and a smile from Thomas, and after much thought decided to eat outside instead of the oh-so-cozy converted church space(not an easy decision). Upon careful examination of the menu it hit me: I didn’t check the offer beforehand and there was not a single vegetarian dish — not even the salads. I asked the server if there was anything I could eat, she said no problem. Just when I had resigned myself to a bland bowl of green salad and potatoes, my food arrived. I ended up enjoying an elegant salad with micro-greens, roasted almonds, shallots and freshly picked berries, tossed with a simple vinaigrette. For seconds I welcomed a huge plate of perfectly and delicately seasoned sautéed veggies — probably the most healthful thing I’ve eaten this month. I briefly considered to ask for the chef’s hand in marriage, but then looked at handsome hubby, happy with his craft beer & grilled fish and decided I love him way to much even though he can’t cook. Or maybe it was Etta James. In short: great quality food and drinks, extremely pleasant service and the graciousness with which they accommodated my special requests made tonight’s dinner a memorable experience.

My husband had a work lunch here and he loved the food(great mussels) and the atmosphere so when my friend came to visit from L.A. we decided to take her there for dinner. It did not disappoint! The ambiance is elegant and cozy, their 3 course menu is reasonably priced(around 350DKK), the house wine was delicious and the food was of very high quality. My husband simply had steak and fries and my friend had pork, both simple, well done dishes. However, I went for the 3 course menu, a lobster soup that was exquisite, braised beef as my main dish, it was to die for, and dessert was an incredible lemon tart that was surprisingly paired with homemade chocolate ice cream but the combination really worked! I could have had three more servings! This is going to be one of my go-to places for special occasions or a nice lunch outside on a sunny day. The location is really quaint, you must check it out!
