We were searching for smørrebrød(traditional Danish open faced sandwiches) in Copenhagen while visiting over Christmas, and this was one of the only options that was open. However, it turned out to be a great last resort! The neighborhood was super nice to stroll through and the place itself was located on a cozy street corner. The interior of the place was even quainter than the outside. It was small enough to feel intimate without feeling cramped. As far as food goes, the smørrebrød was great, though it was slightly surprising that I had to assemble the sandwich myself once the plate arrived. I got the Sailor’s Plate, which was a special that included 4 types of smørrebrød. It was very reasonably priced for the amount of food it included. My husband got the wiener schnitzel and loved it as well. We all tried some of the house schnapps for fun, and there were tons of flavors to choose from. Unfortunately schnapps isn’t my favorite drink, so I can’t give am objective review on that experience… The only possible downside was that our waitress was a little snappy with us at times. Perhaps it was a cultural barrier though, because she was also very informative and helpful at other times throughout the meal. I would definitely go back!

Loved this place. Had the roast beef smorrebrod, which was actually VEAL. Pretty cheap at only 90 kroner, which, at the time of review, is like 12USD. I stumbled in here after being caught in a terrific rainstorm, and the kitchen was closed. The chef was nice enough to whip up a plate for me, and the waitress was extremely kind. As an American unfamiliar with Nordic/Danish cuisine, I had a lot of questions and the waitress was patient and helpful. Of course, like most Danes under 70, she spoke perfect English. Free wifi and a cozy(hygge) atmosphere was the perfect way to ride out the storm.

Scenic views and great service. Tad bit pricer with somewhat small portions(I’m American FYI) but the staff was super from friendly and had some awesome recommendations. Would visit again. I would suggest the open face sandwiches.

You’ll enjoy the views at this often packed Danish restaurant with a very quaint, charming interior. They serve up a good variety of smørrebrød piled high with meats and fish, all heavy with a variety of sauces coupled with a good variety of Danish beers. Service was very friendly and helpful even though it was quite slow because it was busy but we had a great server. Prices will be a bit high but it’s Copenhagen so don’t be shocked. This is a nice place for lunch.

Wow. Philip and Lucan gave the best service. We literally came back 3x in the same day. The best service: I only wish one of them came home with us,. So cute
