The place was phenomenal and really cozy. Dimmed lights and black painted walls gave it that warm comfortable incognito feeling. I had two cocktails at this place. My favorite was the passion fruit cocktail. The drinks do take a while because of their craft but it is totally worth it. They’re a bit pricey, but strong drinks. After my two drinks I felt a little buzzed, which was surprising because of my tolerance. Would recommend this place and plan to return.

Candeur is the epitome of intimate drinks and bites in the spirit of Danish«hygge». Located in an unassuming side street, it’s cozy, dark and candlelit, and the lower floor has quite a bit of seating for the space, including belly up bar seating, tall tables for 2 – 5, traditional booth tables and even a cushioned window seat. The cocktail menu is extensive and interesting with an ENTIRE section for absinthe drinks served in the«traditional way»(though I’m not nearly cosmopolitan or european enough to even know what that means). Other sections include seasonal cocktails and favorites. Along with wine, cider and champagne. Bummer they were a bit lacking in beer options — just one brewery on offer though a good(and local) one, Ugly Duck Brew Co.(£4 for an IPA). My drink(Madhatter’s Brew, £9) was expertly handcrafted by a Nordic god with the disposition of the guy next door — smiling, friendly, helpful — and served(as promised on the menu) in a tea pot. And not like a tea pot that you pour out of, you literally drink right out of the damn thing. Bar snacks were delicious(we had the Grissini sticks with red pepper goat cheese dip and the sweet & spicy nut mix) and unfathomably priced at about £3.50. A bar like this in London would not only cost twice as much, but never have the atmosphere or service this place does. If I came back to CPH, I would go out of my way to get back here.

Stumbled upon this bar during my stay in Copenhagen, its a local spot, really quiet and cozy. Dark interior with upstairs lounge. The bartenders are really nice and speak english too! I had the most amazing cocktail here called the Manhattan Brew, its one of their signature drinks and i have to stay, amazing! Here is what the manhattan brew consists of: Lime, Peach and Passionfruit shaken with black abricot tea and a lot of vodka. Do i need to say anymore, does that mix not sound amazing? Well let me tell you they had me hooked, i couldn’t help craving this delicious concoction as soon as I left Denmark. Actually I could use one right about now.

First night in town and stumbled upon this place for a cocktail. Not only was the apple cider cocktail lovely but the thyme ice cream over white chocolate and marinated plums was special and delicious. Great atmosphere and the bartender was knowledgeable and willing to help an outsider like me on my travels. Will be going there again tomorrow night!

Candeur is a dessert/cocktail bar, which, in my world, is the most fantastic concept –ever! The place is in two stories, which, when you’re sitting upstairs at least, gives a cozy feel to the place. Since it’s an eating place you are seated at tables so it is more a restaurant than a bar. The cocktail menu is quite impressive and filled with ingredients I’d never thought of in drinks. This makes it quite difficult to decide what to get and since the prices are close to 100, — kr for each drink, you don’t experiment. The dessert menu, on the other hand, consists of only six desserts. Three of these are classic desserts that you will find in any restaurant, which leaves you with only three to choose from, if you want something a bit more special. For dessert I chose a thyme ice cream with redwine poached pears, white and dark chocolate and a crumble. It was excellent! When I took a little bit of every ingredient at once, it was like an explosion of wonderfulness in my mouth. My husband had poached plums with cinnamon parfait, black– and elderberries and a crumble — Christmas in your mouth! My madhatters brew was, not quite as excellent, but also a mixture of different tastes that came together quite well. Passionfruit, peach, mint, honey tea and some juice(if I recall correctly!) Even though I have some issues(more desserts!) I give the fourth star for just being here! It is a great place to stop by on your way home.
