An atypically presented hokkien me with a not so traditional taste. The hokkien mee is sweeter than most other stalls. All in all, a satisfying dish.

This stall is one of the hidden gems in an area known for mediocre food. The hokkien mee served here is somewhat different from that served in other places; the mee is mixed with thin bee hoon, and I personally feel that this is a refreshing change from the usual hokkien mee that I am used to. The noodles are fried to perfection, and the amount of wetness is just nice. However, I noticed that there wasn’t any pieces of belly pork fried together with the hokkien mee; this detracts just a bit from the overall hokkien mee experience, but the superb taste of the noodles more than makes up for it. Another big plus is that the plate of hokkien mee was really value for money: at $ 3, it comes with lots of nice and succulent medium sized prawns. If you are a fan of hokkien mee, be sure to give this one a spin!
