I’m not a huge breakfast person, specifically because I don’t love eggs, but if I’m going to eat them, I like ‘em poached. I came here on my first morning in Singapore and enjoyed the spot. It’s not fancy, but I wasn’t looking for fancy, so it worked. I had two poached eggs with toast and black sweetened ice coffee for $ 5.60(in Singapore dollars). I was surprised when I bit into the toast and there was a giant slice of butter and a sweet spread on the toast, but it was tasty despite the surprise. From what I understand, this is a traditional breakfast, so definitely worth trying, although I look forward to trying something different tomorrow(aka it wasn’t so stupendous that i’d forfeit an opportunity to try something new).

Kaya toast with soft boil egg and tea is the best thing I have tried in singapore so far. I have not had good experience with singapore food before this anyways. $ 4.80 for the combo. I recommend getting tea which is not just hot water and tea leaves. The combo was very filling. I saw people cracking open the soft boil egg and soak it with bread. But I opt to eat it separately. Needed a bit of seasoning. They also sell kaya jam here which makes a great souvenir.

Rather than eat the sad buffet at Ibis hotel next door I opted to drag the guys to this toast joint next door. There’s a entrance inside the fortune center as well as outside. We ordered a variety so we could try everything! Steamed bread with kaya, toast with kaya and some cheese toast with kaya on the side. The eggs are runny and best with a dizzle of soy. Be sure to get a iced coffee. They are strong and delicious. This is a solid spot for breakfast. It’s crowded in the morning and the tables go neglected. Be sure to ask for napkins if you want any!

I was traveling to Singapore and wanted to try the authentic Singaporean breakfast, nothing is more authentic tha this place(as suggested by many travel book). Really delicious kaya toasts, half boiled eggs and steamed kaya breads. The coffee was really nice. Overall a very good experience.

So this is a good place for some authentic Kaya toast or even take home a jar of kaya for less than $ 5. But the real star for me was the Kopi O– delicious strong black coffee that is brewed using a slow drip method. It is ever so slightly sweet and absolutely one of the best coffees I ever tasted. The«O» stands for black, by the way. Order it hot or iced. Cheap and you get a huge 16 ounce glass.

This maybe one of the better Ya Kun Kaya Toast’s location I have been to. A lot more laid back since this location is relatively new and never too busy. Tons of seating, even a little outdoor patio area if you want to chill out a little. The tables are not packed closely together and I never feel cramped in or kept invading other people personal space. All the food is made to order as I watched the auntie making my Kaya Toast which went down well with my Kopi C.
