Valle is something of a well kept secret. Tucked away at the end of the row of shops including Haato and E-Sarn at Ridgewood Close Condominium, I would not have known about it myself if a friend hadn’t brought me there. Valle is a nondescript neighbourhood bar, but don’t let appearances fool you. The bar is stocked with a smorgasboard of beers, ciders and ales from all over the world. I was shocked and delighted to find Paulaner Munich on tap for $ 12 a pint. In fact, all the drinks are priced super reasonably. You can get Rekordlig for $ 12 compared to the $ 15 you usually see it sold for at the bars in town. You can refer to this page for the incredibly comprehensive menu. The prices listed are delivery prices(yes, they offer delivery) but I believe the prices at the bar are $ 1 or $ 2 more. Needless to say, if you’re an avid beer drinker, you will really like Valle. I also like the low key and casual vibe of the place. It really is your friendly neighbourhood bar where you can hang out and with your friends while enjoying a really good beer. Sadly, I’ve heard that the condo management has been forcing Valle’s owner to revise the closing time earlier and earlier. While they used to close at midnight, they now have to close at 10pm, I’m guessing because of residents’ complaints. This is probably why Valle’s happy hour ends at 6 as the owner wants to encourage people to visit in the day. I do think Valle would be a really nice spot for a quiet afternoon drink as well.
