Uniqlo

I never find anything in the women’s department. I think if you are blessed with a larger top half these clothes are just not for you! But I have found cute things in the airism department and the guys tee shirts. Currently they have a line of Star Wars, Ghost in the Shell and Disney Pixar tees– so I stocked up on those. The man friend always gets airism undershirts and jeans. This store is a bit smaller than the ones we have been to in NY and the A/​C was seriously lacking.

I get the feeling Uniqlo is similar to a Japanese version of American Apparel. It’s great for lots of basics. Much like American Apparel a lot of the women’s clothes are more suited to quite thin women with no hips.
It’s a much better store for dudes. My partner bought up big here, with some t-​shirts as cheap as $ 7!

When entering any Uniqlo store, you will be greeted by their cheerful staff with «Welcome to Uniqlo!»
The week I was visiting Singapore in June, this Uniqlo was having its grand opening! I went during the weekend and it was MADNESS! A line outside their door before 10am. Lots of clothes were on sale! People were pulling them off the shelves as if it was free. I confess that I was one of those people. haha Luckily, they restocked and get shipments every day!
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. If there’s an item not in the store they’ll find a way to get it! The store is huge! Two stories! It’s overwhelming!
If you’re a tourist shopping in Singapore, you can easily spend SGD100!
Uniqlo items on sale. Spent over SGD117. Got a free Uniqlo tote bag with over SGD100 purchase. 7% GST tax refund. WIN!!!

This has got to be the biggest Uniqlo in Singapore. Guys will be happy to note that this 2 storey, 20 000 sqft has devoted a entire level to men’s wear on the upper storey. Wert! Jealous.
Anyway, i think Uniqlo is great for basics, especially for guys. The tailored shorts and berms are perfect for the sweltering and humid conditions of our sunny island.
I’m also a great fan of their Heat Tech series. Trust me, this is the best thermals you can get. Say goodbye to thick and ugly looking thermals from wintertime, coldwear or what not. This is thin, very comfortable and you can even wear it as an outerwear. I survived the sub 10 deg winters in Hokkaido with just the thermals, a tee, a wool pullover (from uniqlo as well) and an outer jacket.
Very affordable winter wear. Time to stock up for Dec people.

The new Uniqlo flagship store has opened!
There are a few things that I like about this store. For one, it’s spanking NEW! Secondly, it’s really spacious, and there are many fitting rooms. And since the store is so big, you can take your own sweet time to choose and try in the store without eyes darting at you. There are two levels, where the clothes are neatly stacked and arranged. Also to mention, the staffs at the store are quite friendly and helpful! So far so good, and nothing I dislike about it!
