Tomi Sushi wasn’t our first choice for dinner, but because we’re old, Miguel and I wanted to eat dinner around 5:30. We walked into nearby Wahiro but they weren’t open until 6. So Tomi it was. Tucked in the corner on the 2nd floor of Katong V, this outlet seemed really fancy despite the fact it’s in a small strip mall. They also had private dining rooms, which surprised me. I was a bit wary, as I’ve been to their other outlet in Novena and thought it was overpriced considering the portions were small. However, the tips for this outlet seemed favourable, so I walked in with an open mind. The menu here had a lot of choices, but I decided on ordering the cheapest nigiri set at $ 23. I also ordered the yasai(veggie) tempura at $ 12. The tempura was quite good, while the nigiri was exactly what I was looking for– fresh, good textures, and substantial. Though still pretty pricey, I did enjoy my experience at this outlet and I’m happy that the portions are a lot better here. I will return!
