barf. We got beef puffs and on my first bite it was all gristle and tendon. The man friend couldn’t eat them either. Waste of money. Go across the way to the coffee place and get snacks there!

Located near to AMK hub is this store that sells different kind of puffs. The first time I came here, I was introduced by good friends of mine as they live closer to this store. It was awhile ago since I had one so I decided to get a curry puff for my own. I consumed it probably after 1 hour later. During consumption, shockingly the puff was still flaky and crispy to my liking. The curry was also well done and there was a quarter of hard boiled egg inside which added more flavor to my tastebuds. This place is definitely a must try when you are around the area. Will definitely come back for more and try out their other flavors. Another thing to take note of — as this space is next to other food places, it is better if you do the puffs for takeaways.

For sardine puff lovers, in my books they sell one of the best ones in Singapore. I love the buttery pastry as well as the spicy sardine filling which oozes out from the first bite.

Quality never drops over decades of a little store opened in a coffee shop at heartland area! Had it since young, and my client got so touched when I bought a dozen over to her office located at Tuas! This little store was once mentioned in our Prime Minister speech back in 2007. Bravo! Tip Top remains TIPTOP!

Lying in a corner of the coffee shop, Tip Top has also revamped its storefront when the coffee shop underwent some renovation. The coffee shop’s quite near Ang Mo Kio Hub, within walking distance. If you’re a curry puff connoisseur then you’ll know that Tip Top curry puffs are true to the name — that crunchy oh-so-buttery exterior with generous filling, a good mixture of thick potatoes and hard boiled eggs and chicken chunks. What sets it apart is that you can taste the ingredients distinctively. All the better if it were all bought piping hot, all the smokey goodness escaping from the curry puff when you take your first bite. Definitely worth the calories. Their curry puffs are still one of the yummiest in the North area. It seems that prices has been slowly increasing though… but what to do, inflation everywhere right. There wasn’t much of a queue when I went in the afternoon, try your luck. ;)

Tip-Top curry puff sells one of the best curry puffs in Singapore, rivaling the huge chains of Old Chang Kee and 1A curry puff. The metrics to measure a good curry puff are the skin/crust and the filling. Both of which, Tip-Top scores high marks in. The crust is crispy, does not flake too much and the filling is spicy yet fresh. One can still feel some bits of chicken in the curry filling! Unlike those curry puffs sold at road sides, where their filling is stiff and dry, the filling of Tip-Top curry puffs are very much in it’s thick liquid curry form. Priced at slightly over a dollar for each curry puff, it is cheaper than Old Chang Kee’s curry puff which is priced at $ 1.40 each. Finally, curry puff enthusiasts should always look to request for freshly fried puffs upon purchase as it would give more kick while eating it piping hot. Tip-Top puffs are a must try when it comes to trying out the best curry puff in Singapore.
