Though Morton is an American steak house, they have a bar that is not only an institution but also serves the best martinis ever. I was a regular when I lived in Singapore especially during their famous happy hour 4−7pm weekdays. Now it’s even 7 days! Whoop! During happy hour, you get not only half price of their special martinis: Classic, cosmopolitan, apple martini, lychetini, and chocolate martini. My fave are lychetini and choc martini. chocolate martini comes with chocolate coated glass and shaved chocolate. Decadent! They also serve complimentary steak sandwiches. Yums. Come early as this place is super popular. Oh and keep it a secret!!! We don’t want long lines

Checked the website and Facebook and neither had any news that Morton’s would be closed for a private party. Came across town for this? Not a very professional way to run a bar…

Great after work or girls night out! I have been here a few times and it never disappoints. Don’t try to come before 5 pm as they are NOTOPEN! The gem about this place is the free steak sandwiches that they pass around. Helps to justify the $$$ drinks. Oh well, it is Singapore, pricy drinks come with the living here. Lastly, the best reason to come here is the staff! They always remember your face, and they are good about remembering your favorite Martini! Service is top notch and very unusual to find in Singapore.

I write this review with a bit of hesitation because I’m fearful that too many people may discover this place and make it more difficult to get a table. But here goes — Singapore’s best happy hour can be found in the Level 4 Atrium of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The Bar at Morton’s, located outside the restaurant(in a circular pagoda shaped freestanding structure) offers an amazing happy hour from 5−7pm, 7 days a week.(There’s also the bar inside the restaurant, but I prefer the atmosphere of the open air pagoda inside the hotel’s huge atrium). Both have been recently remodeled. Classy, civilized, and comfortable, it’s the perfect place to start the evening by enjoying a well prepared Martini(classic, lychee, cosmo, chocolate) and complimentary rounds of Sarnies, their little steak sandwiches with horseradish mayo. The staff does an impeccable job. Most of all, they’re warm and friendly — but they’re also attentive and prompt, keeping the drinks flowing, tables cleared, and making sure everyone is happy and has exactly what they need. They really do all they can to help make it an enjoyable evening. If you arrive at 5 and stay through 7, you’ll be treated to several rounds of steak sarnies. Don’t let that stop you from looking at the Bar Snacks menu. My favorite is the huge portion of super crispy homemade potato chips served with a blue cheese dressing for dipping. If you’re in the mood for something more substantial, the burger is one of the best in town. The Good: Classy, civilized happy hour with reasonably priced martinis, the staff, the entire experience. Blue Cheese stuffed olive Vodka Martinis. The Bad: Nothing bad ever happens at The Bar at Morton’s. The Verdict: Forget you read any of this. Stay away. This place is not for you. There’s a Harry’s Bar down the street. They love you there. The drinks are good at Harry’s. The waitresses are pretty at Harry’s. Okay — Seriously, don’t tell anyone, but the Bar at Morton’s is Singapore’s best kept secret for Happy Hour. If you enjoy a good martini, it just doesn’t get any better than this!

This is a 5 stars place, probably the only place where the martini’s are made how it should be

+ 5−7pm happy hour for $ 16 properly mixed martinis now 7 days a week! I’m not a martini or sweet cocktail person, but the lychee and chocolate martinis were well executed here. + rounds of free steak sandwiches. V decent thick cut slices of steak with a smear of mayo and bread + October prime burger promo for $ 20(usually $ 35). Not bad at all. + despite the heavy flow of people service was not bad. Bartenders & managers were attentive + good crowd — no reservations. Arrived at 6:15 and the place was packed till 8ish

I’d heard a lot about the famous Morton’s happy hour, but the chances of my getting over there by 5pm to snag a prized seat on a weekday seemed as likely as sprouting wings and developing a 13 octave vocal range. Much to my delight, we discovered one Sunday afternoon that Morton’s has the delightful Mortini Happy Hour EVERYDAYOFTHEWEEK! We strolled into Morton’s Bar at 5:30pm to the beautiful sight of plenty of empty seats. Our martinis($ 15.95++) were delicious and we proceeded to stuff our little bellies with complimentary steak sandwiches. We left around 7:15pm a little wobbly, nicely full and a lot happy! PARTINGTHOUGHT: All the martinis are delicious, but the chocolate is my favorite! The bottom of the glass coated in decadent melted chocolate.

Best Bar in the area for quality martinis at an affordable price, not to mention the(somewhat illusive) complimentary steak sandwiches. Lychee Martini, Appletini and Chocolate Martini(scrap the glass for alcohol laced chocolate bits) are the Best.

Looking for a classy place to get some good martinis and steak sandwiches, this is the place to be especially during their happy hours from 5−7pm, Mons — Sats. Yes, their happy hour is now available on Saturdays too! Joy of joys. ;) Substantial serving of martinis at approx $ 15 after taxes each and free juicy steak sandwiches served at regular intervals, what more can you ask for? Looking for other things to tease your palette? Try their blue cheese fries and for something sweet, their oh-so-good Chocolate Molten Cake that leaves you wanting for more. Be careful though, cos good things are worth waiting for, orders of fries and cake usually take at least 25mins so if you’re hungry, grab your seat and order fast!

Mortini is now also on Saturdays! It was so quiet when I was there last Saturday that we could have as many sandwiches as we like per serving and had to pass on the last platter. The filet mignon is still yummy but I wish the bread is smaller and the meat bigger. I guess since it is free, we can’t really kick a fuss. It seems like they have been decreasing the alcohol in the martinis over the years(since the days when one martini is $ 7.95). Not sure if it is age or my alcohol threshold. Nowadays when I do go there, I typically will request that they make it stronger.

This has been one of favorite haunts beginning from my uni days, which means I’ve hung out here even before I turned legal. But hey, don’t tell the cops. Imagine the nostalgia — sauntering out of a lecture and taking an unhurried journey down to Oriental, plonking yourself into a lush seat, lychee martini in hand. Lychee happens to be a personal go to — apple’s too lip puckeringly sour, whilst any chocolate so thin simply just isn’t done. These babies are potent, and depending on how pally you are with the bartenders(I used to be rather familiar with a dude named Jackson and would sit at the bar to chat with him), you can request for stronger or as many lychees as you’d like. Three lychees are likely to present a happy buzz, but I’d recommend not going more than six, otherwise you might have a hard time stumbling down the stairs that curve outside the bar. Save some room for the steak sandwiches too! While they used to be served at 15minute intervals(I’ve definitely been around long enough to know), it has since become less frequent, which seems a more reasonable pace, really. Hint: come early at 5pm as the place fills up completely within half an hour.

The martinis used to be $ 10 a pop, but hey, COE now costs more than some cars. It’s a classy place, healthy level of noise without having to engage in a shouting match to make yourself heard to your companions. The steak sandwiches are moist and flavourful, and the wait staff parade them on a silver tray proudly to all tables and those sitting at the bar. Wash them down with a green apple martini or three. If American Psycho knew about this place, they would probably have filmed here. There may be too many bankers or lawyers around but at this point, the world should just be you, your martini and the delectable pile of steak sandwiches that float by every now and then. Keep them coming!

The Morton’s Weekday Happy Hour is the best. thing. ever. From 5 — 7pm every evening, you get their famously good martinis for $ 12++ and free flow of delectable beef steak sandwiches. The martinis live up to their reputation — my choice of poisons are the chocolate martini(yummy! scrape the chocolate sauce off the sides) and the apple martini(with a frosted cinnamon sugar glass). You can also get a Cosmopolitan, lychee or classic martini. The steak sandwiches get served up every half an hour or so — keep an eye out for the waiters with the trays! If you’re nice and lucky, you might be able to grab some extras when they’ve done the rounds. It’s a steakhouse so those free sandwiches are definitely worth it! Service is pretty good, and the bar snacks are quite yummy, this is one institution that I hope will last for a long, long time to come!
