SYNC korean Fusion Bistro

Located in Westgate is this Bistro. Passed by here a couple of times but tried other foods around here instead. So this time round I’m trying this out.
The bistro opens at 11am. I came around 10.40am and was asked to seat at the balcony (outdoor space) and one of the servers handed me a menu to look at. Before coming here, I am eyeing on the yangnyeom tongdak (korean crispy sweet and spicy chicken winglets), topokki (rice cake) and their lava cakes especially the white chocolate yam one.
While waiting for my friend to arrive, I asked the server to serve me the chicken wings first. The sauce is like korean rice cake sauce. It wasn’t as spicy as I thought it might be (the color looks deceiving). The chicken skin was crispy. Unfortunately one of the chickens I tried was undercooked — you can find some reddish colored meat on one side. Was indeed flavorful. The knife provided was sharp that I need not mess with the sauces with my bare hands.
I also ordered Yuzu for the drink — $ 5.00. A little pricy on the drink and you could probably top up a few more dollars to get the appetizers — $ 6.90.
Ambience has more modern touches to it. They managed to combine both dark and bright colors to make the space more inviting. I like the fact that they do outdoors and indoors (there are hidden aircons). At the background there is Korean music. And at one corner there is a children seating area where kids can play with the smart tablets provided. Pretty smart idea to entertain younger ones.
One benefit of being early is that you can pick your seating. For me I like to seat at where I can see at least 90 degrees. And yup, I chose the corner seat. The decorations inside have simple touches to it and a mix of colors which brighten the layout and not too cluttered.
The rice cake is chewy but the sauce didn’t really add more flavor to the plain rice cake. The sauce is a little runny with small bits of bacon, spring onions and a soft boiled egg. Was a little disappointed by this dish :(and I found ants in the wooden board.
The white chocolate and yam lava cake was good. The gush of white chocolate and yam suddenly rushed out after you poke it with a spoon. Love the cake. Quite sweet even for my tastebuds. On the sides they also have corn flakes and yam ice cream with chocolate chips. Impressed by the dessert so far :)
Overall, will definitely come back for more lava cakes :)
