It’s sad to see that the taste of the food and the quality of service at Swiss Bake has zero sum value. One deserves to get decent service for a delicious yet expensive sandwhich but you only get a random chance of being served on time and in the way you ordered.

This is a review of a lunch with a colleague at Swissbake. The setup is pretty typical. You order at the counter. They give you a number to place on the table. They bring the food to the table. The staff was friendly and professional. The ambiance is pretty straightforward. It is clean and new. They have crammed quite a few tables in the space so it is a little cramped. Overall though, it is a functional restaurant layout. They have both savoury dishes and quite a selection of pastries and other sweets. The savoury dishes are sort of inspired by Swiss and German cuisine. We both ordered one of their rosti plates. The food was pretty good but the portions were pretty small for the price. The«rosti’ is a potato preparation similar to hash-browns. Chicken Schnitzel Rosti — This was my lunch. It was freshly prepared. The small side of salad was very crisp and made from quality ingredients. The schnitzel was tender and the sauce was tangy. The rosti itself was very small and a little on the bland side. Smoked Salmon Rosti — This was my colleagues lunch. He enjoyed it. But, like me, thought the portion was not very generous. Receipt($ 23.70): Overall — The service, ambiance, and food are all solid. However, you might need to order a little extra something. Swissbake makes for a nice lunch though. additional note — i have also stopped in to pick up some pastries for an afternoon snack. these were quite good. -
