My first review on Unilocal and couldn’t resist myself writing it. This place is out of the world! I have never ever had a better chocolate delight cake in my life. Simply amazing. The staff is super super nice. 5 out of 5.

Sweet Spot is located right across the elevator bank of Marina Bay Sands Tower 3. My aunt and I stayed in Tower 3, and after walking pass it many times, we finally decided to grab breakfast here one morning. A simple breakfast day. I really have a lot of appreciate for simple breakfast days when I travel. Why? There are a lot of times when traveling in Asia where breakfast is included in the overall hotel package. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about free food, let alone a free buffet! Double score! But there’s also something nice about not going all out in eating tons of food for breakfast, which is what I do when the breakfast buffet is deliciousss(notice the emphasis on the triple S’s! Lol). Although I do have to admit I love getting and eating everything I can possibly eat at a breakfast buffet, a simple croissant and tea is great on those laid back, chillaxing, and casual mornings. And during one of the mornings in Singapore, Sweet Spot served that purpose. There are three TWG Teashops in Marina Bay Sands and I didn’t go to any of them. Instead, I got to try the Chamomile TWG here. I actually really like the TWG chamomile tea. Chamomile is always my go to. I’ve had not so good chamomiles before, but I thoroughly enjoyed TWG’s. On to the almond croissant, man — no complaints here! The croissant was good! And they are generous about the almonds too. :D It was soft and flaky. Just the way I like it. I’d recommend it, for sure. I’d get it again if I find myself in Marina Bay Sands again in the future. I ate SO much in Singapore, that I was really that full that my tummy didn’t have room for sweets. Crazy, I know. However, I did take a picture as a souvenir as well as memory of how good they looked, hah.

this is located inside the marina bay sands next to tower 3. we came here multiple times for a quick breakfast before heading up to the pool. the croissants are excellent. the macaroons are delicious and i don’t even like macaroons. the blueberry danish(probably my favorite thing here) is damn good and it’s even better than their peach danish. the coffee is decent. it’s absolutely the perfect way start a morning to sneak some baked good and coffee upstairs and read a paper by the poolside.

I’ve been here numerous times. They serve up a great Americano coffee and the croissants and pastries are delish. Tip though… go early in the day… by 4−5pm they are stale and not as good.

This place has quite a few desserts that is worthy to try. One of it is the macaroons. I’ve been in search for good macaroons ever since I step into Singapore. I love fruity taste macaroons so I tried strawberry, passion fruit and I forgot the other one. All of it are not that sweet which is good as I normally eat it in two bites without tea/coffee. The outside layer is crisp which is good. After eating the macaroons you will still have the flavour tangling on your tongue. Another kind of pastry/bread I would recommend is the mocha bread. The best is when you actually get it when it is fresh and bite straight into it. The top part is crispy and after biting, you will taste the mocha. I am not a fan of coffee but this is good and the price is reasonable. This place is located at tower 3. Depending on where you park, you might need to walk more. Treat it exercise :) Enjoy. I hope that there will be more varieties of baked good soon!

Lego is something that accompanies the childhood of most people and now it has been turned into an art exhibition which has been held since last year and will end this April at the Art Science Musuem, Marina Bay Sands. But the main thing is not the arts but the cakes at Sweetspot. Though enrobed with a green chocolate case, this consists neither matcha nor pistachio. But is simply a very sweet white chocolate mousse with tangy raspberry compote and a layer of sponge cake. The texture was smooth and everything fits well, but not convincing for a second try.
The Sweet Thyme and Orange sounds special and worth trying if you don’t mind herbs and spices in cakes. The mandarin orange cream centre sitting on a hazelnut meringue sponge cake is surrounded by a thyme-infused white chocolate mousse. The sweetness of the white chocolate mousse overshadowed the taste of thyme though.
Lychee rose mousse cake($ 9) No matter how poor the food may taste, I usually tell people to go for a try because taste is subjective. But this Lychee rose mousse with raspberry could not have been produced by the same team which came up with the delicious creations above. It was not mousse but like a chewy rubber which could be due to too much gelatin powder. It is just too simple to be priced as the most expensive cake among the selection.

Got to try the classic Le Petite Antoine, created by the chef after his godson who loved the dessert. A sweet note to it with a delectable crunch. The cream is unbelievably light too. Crowd pleaser. I also got the Mille Feuille along with it. For those who are not quite up for chocolate(how can you ever?), the Mille Feuille is the perfect option. Layers of crème pâtissière and puff pastry for a light treat with a nice buttery aftertaste.

SweetSpot is tucked away in the corner of Marina Bay Sands Hotel. The only thing that makes one aware of its presence is the smell of their bread and desserts. That was how I was lured to the bakery. Next thing I noticed were the colorful desserts lined at the shop front. I am a sucker for pretty things and this shop has nailed down my weakness with their pretty desserts. I bought the Raspberry Macaroon ‘cake’ which is two big macaroon shells with five raspberries and chocolate mousse in between. I got it because well, I love macaroons, I love chocolate and the fruits were just an excuse to make me feel a little bit less guilty. The taste of the ‘cake’ was interesting… the taste of the raspberry compliments the sweetness of the macaroons and the bitter-sweetness of the chocolate. The overall taste was simply an explosion of different flavours from the chocolate, raspberries and macaroons. I was so sorry to finish it all and ended up wishing I can have another. If you are in the area ready to check in for a night’s stay in MBS, do pop by SweetSpot and buy their desserts up into your room and savour it while enjoying the view outside your window like I did!
