One of my favourite Sushi places for a quick bite. I know about this place when I was in Taipei and I followed it since then. When I heard this restaurant opened its outlets in Singapore, I was delighted. I immediately went to the outlet at Citilink and then this outlet not long after it opened. Comparing Taiwan and Singapore’s branch, I prefer the former, as I find there is more variety over there and the sashimi tastes fresher I feel. I enjoy sitting at the conveyer counter to watch the mouth watering Japanese sushi passing by me and I get very tempted to grab hold of every plate but of course I can’t since my stomach has limited space and besides the quality of the food is just average but still it’s one of the better ones over here and furthermore it’s cheap too, at the price of S$ 1.50 per plate and there is only one colour, so that makes your life easier, don’t have to worry about the cost of the plates. I would consider this as a low end Japanese restaurant, targeting budget conscious patrons. Overall, I enjoy my occasional visits at this outlet and come only during off peak hours as it gets very crowded during peak hours.

I’ve been a huge fan of kaiten sushi since I discovered the form in Osaka. Sushi Express is a decent by-the-numbers kaiten sushi place. Decent enough price per plate. Clean. Bright. Lots of variety on the belts. Look for a corner seating where you’ve got two belts running next to you. Great for grabbing items before they make the full go round.

$ 1.50 per plate sushi seems to be well worth the price, especially for 4 thick slices of salmon sashimi. It may not be the freshest of sashimi, but decent enough, especially for the price tag. The food here is decent for what I’d consider«cheap sushi», and definitely a cut above Sakae sushi. Love the salmon sashimi, abalone salad, the rice with seaweed and salmon salad, jelly fish, unagi, and desserts! Will visit again!
