Strip

While I used to get my girly matters dealt with elsewhere, I’ve now become a Strip convert (Stripper?). Got convinced to take up semi permanent hair removal and I haven’t looked back on my hirsute self since. Not that I’m very hairy though– I barely have enough brows to keep my eye sockets warm.
Pros: classy finishings, and equipped with a Smeg fridge. Smeg, you guys! Win. The therapists are professional and efficient. Some are chatty, some are quiet, none will make you feel uncomfortable. One gripe I had with the last place I used to patronise was how flimsy everything felt. The beds were wobbly. The shower, while a nice touch, was always flooded. The towels were thin and scratchy. Not here. Everything’s just plush. Customer service is great, and I’ll get a call to remind me of my session a day in advance, and then again on the day itself.
Cons: it stings. Imagine having ice cold gel squirted (squirted. lol at self) all over your privates and then having a rubber band pinged at the same area for half a minute. Pain scale: probably 5. Compare it to a waxing session. Pain scale: probably HOLY SH*TBALLS.
It’s a toss up between long drawn irritating pain or having your hair literally ripped off. At least you get to lie on a nice bed and get comfortable. Or as comfortable as one can get while being fiddled with and having death rays relentlessly zapped at your wonder unders.

Firstly, if you’re not familiar with Strip, it is the place to go to in Singapore for all your waxing needs.
Trendy, fast and efficient, waxing doesn’t get any better than this. I can’t believe they don’t have a chain like that in LA and I make sure to come back every time I’m in Singapore. Sure, they tend to try to hard sell you at the end with their packages. But that’s the only downside it… if you go in knowing they’re going to do it (they only do it at the end when you’re about to pay) and you insist you don’t want it, you’re good (no one can sell you something you don’t want!).
After all, you pick a waxing place based on efficiency and cleanliness… This one has it all. The cool hipster concept is just a bonus point.
More specific to this Strip location, however, it is my favorite location because it is quiet and a little less busy than their other locations. I almost always get an appointment on the same day (except for public holidays and some weekends) Also, I love getting my waxes done in Mandarin Gallery, makes me feel a little more atas (;

I wrote a similar review for Browhaus (they are owned by the same company) Strips services are good and efficient but like Browhaus, they force their packages on you and really pressure you into buying packages.
They therapists also try to hard sell you into doing different treatments all the time. However, they are efficient as i mentioned and if you want a brazilian, they are probably the fastest and cleanest in singapore and can be done in 20 minutes flat.
This one in Mandarin Gallery is less crowded than their other outlets and they also have services for men.
