I would actually like to rate this 3.5 stars. Hidden away from the busy Orchard Road is Spa Valley. It is just behind the taxi stand at Cairnhill Place, making it still a convenient location for those who is always in the Orchard area. It is fairly old as it has been around for years and is a quiet spa which does not focus on hard selling. A refreshing change from other places. Promotions are at the counter or you could always ask them if you are interested. The décor is reminiscent of what spas were like before they start sprouting up everywhere — European style. The steam room is a proper place with stone benches and even a water feature inside. There are 6 rooms if I remember correctly, and they are not tiny cubicles. It is a proper decent size room with space to walk and hang your clothes or bathrobes. Lockers are also available to store your belongings and slippers are to be worn. I have tried the massage, facial and foot massage. The Fango facial treatment is quite popular and uses thermal mud. Frankly I don’t see much difference in my skin, then again I am not one to scrutinize my face either. It was a relaxing experience just to have some pampering time in a quiet place, where people spoke softly and did not hassle you to sign up for this and that. The massage was equally soothing and the therapist was able to hit the right spot to work out the kinks in the weary body. My favorite was the foot massage, mainly because of the chair. The armchair/lounger was huge and clean. You could press a button to recline and that was quite the highlight. You could really doze off in the cozy and dim lounge area where the therapist massaged away the soreness from the feet. One of my favorite places to get a really nice foot massage in Singapore.
