Sifu

Came in here to retreat from the heat — we didn’t have any dim sum (which I guess it’s known for), but just had several bites to eat. Everything was good, but nothing to rave home about.

Bugis Junction has really changed a lot since the last time I visited. Looking for a modern looking, upmarket Hong Kong cha chan teng, SIFU is the place to go.
The deco reminds me pretty much of the western bistro with black and white lines (of course, being a Chinese restaurant, they included some gold in the mix), mirrors and clean design. But the food is a very simple fare of HK cuisine.
I tried one of their recommended tomato-​soup based noodles and I really enjoyed it. Though I prefer the tomato sauce noodles that I had back in Hong Kong, this is a good substitute to remind me of the good time I had back in hk.
The restaurant was quite busy and space is kinda tight when I was there for dinner on a Saturday evening. Being packed closely to the diners next to us, there isn’t much privacy for conversations.
Other than that, service is prompt, staff are helpful, food is not too bad. Since it’s more upmarket, noodles go for $ 11.90 onwards per bowl.

i went to bugis junction to get my fav drink from MOS burger but was shocked that MOS was closed down for a new restaurant that is utterly shameful to have in place of a MOS burger restaurant…
Tried its BEST-​selling boliao buns (of 0.5stars/ out of 5 stars) …yetshocked by its normal standard bun yet they claimed themselves to be the sifu师傅…(Master of none)
they shd change the name to Shitful buns instead
While the char siew version is too salty, its custard version deserves zero marks!
there is nothing wrong in producing HDB flat-​grade buns, but it s utterly shameful to priced it exorbitantly at $ 1.20each –even after 930pm (w no discounts for closing sale)!!!
Any hdb bakery stall can easily bake such «sifu“师傅级 grade common buns @ a much cheaper pricing, it s totally NOT cute to have a bite on such a mini-​weenie
Totally a waste of my time!!! to even write this review, but in order to publicize the truth, i have to do this
