I admit I am a total ditz when it comes to anything home-related. I am that useless person who has no idea how to fix a running toilet, or which switch to use when you have to reset a tripped breaker. So it was no surprise that over the Chinese New Year holiday, after buying all the ingredients needed to make food at home in case restaurants are closed, I find out my stove doesn’t work because we have no gas in my apartment. Say what? We didn’t realise we had to set up an appointment for this utility! *facepalm* Upon the recommendation of our building management, we ended up contacting Seng Hong Gas as our complex doesn’t have access to a gas pipeline. Seng Hong must have some sort of agreement with the management here, as you can see stickers advertising their service all over our complex. I guess I called at a good time, as they were able to come by my place within a few hours. I didn’t have enough cash to cover the installation, so I had to run out to the ATM to get the funds. I was probably gone for about 15 minutes, and by the time I returned everything was already set up! It cost me $ 168 for the initial installation, and will probably cost around $ 35 each time to replace the gas when it runs out(all dependent on market price of gas.) These guys are quick and easy to talk to. I’m a fan!
