Located at the corner of Upp Thomson road, directly across from Wafflicious, it was pretty hard to find. I was so sure, I had walked past it when I knew I was coming to the end of the row of shops. It was pretty quiet on a friday night, there were 2 other tables. they provide you with some card games to entertain yourselves while your delicious waffles get made. But once the waffles arrive, the cards can be put back onto the display mantle!!! We tried lychee by itself and it had little chunks of lychee? or lychee flavoured jelly? :D it was yummy! Then we had a waffle with matcha, rum n raisin and honeycomb. It was my bad for not tasting the flavours before deciding to put them all onto one waffle. The honeycomb was wayyyyy to sweet for my liking. but the bitterness of the matcha helped save the day. for 3 scoops on a waffle it was $ 9.80 and we added 50 cents for butter and syrup: D because WHYNOT? the waffle itself was very thick and crispy: D SOOOOOOOOODELICIOUS! Definitely gonna head back here for more waffles!!! We also tried their lava cake at $ 6.50 with no ice cream, it was a good treat for those who love chocolate: D

Upper Thomson has always been a favorite food haunt of mine for supper and desserts as it is near Bishan. While searching for ice cream after dinner at Long House, my friends and I chanced upon Scoopz. My first impression of the place was that it was friendly, clean and cosy. There were many youths engaging in card games such as Monopoly Deal within the café. My guess was that Scoopz borrowed the idea of a board games café and used it their ice cream outlet. A look at the menu revealed a wide range of flavors. I personally feel that the mark of a good ice cream maker is that one should be able to correctly translate durian into it’s ice cream flavor. Without a second thought, I ordered the durian ice cream. While it was not exceptional, Scoopz did not disappoint in it’s durian ice cream. I took several samples from my friends and we agreed that at 4 dollars(cone), it was pretty good a deal for dessert. I recommend Scoopz for ice cream lovers who are tired of the usual fare offered by Udders located in Thomson.

Scoopz was actually chanced upon by accident when I met a friend for a meal at Fat Boys and he wanted some desserts. So we happen to see this curious green sign across the road and decided«Why don’t we go there?» Scoopz may appear rather simple but their ice cream was delicious. After that, I always head there for dessert if I happen to be around the area. I’m a big fan of their mango sorbet, watermelon, lavender earl grey and lemon ice cream. One of my friends LOVE their milk tea ice cream. I heard their durian ice cream is delicious too but I have yet to try it. It’s a great place to chill with friends as they have board and card games at the side for their customers to play with. Their waffle with ice cream is also not too bad. And personally, I love that place because it’s quite affordable. One scoop is $ 2.90, two scoops are $ 3.90 etc. In some places, one scoop is $ 3.90, so it’s really quite value for money. Do give it a try if you are around the area!
