Pilates Flow is a small pilates studio located on the 2nd floor of a quiet row of shops along Bukit Timah. That being said though, please do not be misled by the size of the studio. The instructors here are top notch. They take the time to correct each and every student’s mistakes — facilitated greatly, no doubt, by the small class sizes. 2 different types of classes are available — mat and gym. The former consists of students doing different stances while sitting/lying on a mat — I find it really useful as it stretches you out and you can feel your core muscles being given a rigorous workout. The latter involves using the different machines in the studio. While I’ve personally never tried it, my friends swear by gym classes though — they claim it gives you an excellent understanding of your body. Oh and one last excellent thing about Pilates Flow — price wise, it’s pretty reasonable(:

I have been to various Pilates studios in Singapore in the past and decided to give Pilates Flow a try, as I heard they taught purely the classical techniques which is rare to find here. And boy was I glad I did! During my first lesson there, my instructor took the time to explain about the«Powerhouse»(the core muscles of the body) and how the body’s movements should originate and work from it. We used a very unique machine called the Reformer in the lesson, and what a workout it was! Muscles were working in my body that I had never felt before! Truly amazing and eye-opening. And their instructors also seem to have more expertise than other places I’ve been to before and there are special trials for new clients. Parking can be a little tricky, but the quiet environment in Bukit Timah was also very conducive to the workout experience, as I had to concentrate on what my body was doing. Now I am totally hooked and can’t wait for my next lesson!
