This is a short review of a curry puff from Old Chang Kee in Changi City Point.
We had been discussing curry puffs at work. While I have tried many different types of bread pocket foods (samosas, empanadas, etc.), I had never tried a curry puff.
One of the guys went and purchased some from Old Chang Kee and handed them out.
It was very good. The flavour and texture of the filling was similar to a vegetarian samosa. It was richer though. The richness was something I did not really expect. It might make it difficult to eat a lot of them in a single sitting. The bread forming the pocket was very dense. It also had a slight chalkiness to it.
Overall — My first experience with a curry puff was very favourable. There are certainly more curry puffs ahead in my future. Chang Kee delivered to me, as a curry puff novice, a good introduction to the tasty treat.
