If I didn’t work at NUS I probably would never have heard of O Bar, but it gives me a very convenient place to find an American craft beer. In addition to the standard Tiger/​Hoegaarden/​Heineken, they get some slightly more interesting imports (Schneider Weisse, Erdinger). Most importantly, they stay well-​stocked by BeerStyle, so they always have Stone, Rogue, Deschutes, and Heretic on hand; with ~3 of them on tap. And they have the best happy hour deal in town: $ 8 pints of American craft beers 4−7pm. It gets a little noisy sometimes when people start in with the karaōke, but you can always move out to the staff lounge area just outside of the bar. O Bar is a bit difficult to find if you are not familiar with NUS, but it’s actually not hard to get to. It’s a 10 minute walk from Kent Ridge MRT, or you could take one of the free campus shuttles.
