Noi’s Mushroom Minced Meat Noodles

My favorite place to eat in the whole world. I often have cravings for the delicious mee pok ! I have been eating this for over 20 years !! I never ever get sick of it and if i go too long without it I must go there and get my noodle fix ! Make sure you go early because it will be sold out by 1pm !

parking can be an issue here.
two choices available:
1) park at value hotel, balestier.
2) street parking along jalan datoh.
this version of bak chor mee comes with prawns instead of liver.
prices are $ 4 or $ 5.
for their dry version, you get prawns, minced pork, mushrooms, vegetables (lettuce, bean sprouts and chye sim) plus their most important ingredient which is the ‘dry roasted till fragrant’ flat fish.
in the accompanying soup bowl you get seaweed, lettuce and pork balls in a clear tasty broth.
vinegar is standard fare here plus a generous amount of crispy pork lard.
be prepared to wait as most people who come to this coffeeshop are here only for a bowl of noi’s noodles which is always cooked al dente.
don’t be too surprised when you are served by an indian order taker (from what i gather is related to the stall owner) who speaks fluent mandarin and teochew!
