Well marinated pork won me over. I had 2 other mookatas in the same level but the marination wasn’t awesome enough. Ordered for 4 pax –a standard platter –pork(S) –beef(S) –4 drinks –sashimi prawns for $ 88 Reasonable value It was my first time trying raw prawns from a Thai outlet instead of a Japanese setting. The chili dip packs a punch and I’m not even a regular chili eater.

The chilly sauce was great. Other than that, wished they were still using charcoal and that the quality of meats was better.

I was with two friends walking past and it seemed pretty popular so we got in the queue. We got a place 5 minutes later, and we ordered the standard $ 45 set. Our mookata was set up in a matter of minutes, along with our iced lemongrass teas(yum!). The mookata grill here does not come with holes, so all the grease and juices flow into the soup bit, which is yummy, or unhealthy, depending on how you view it. So our set had a mix of different meats, and we heard another table order an all-chicken set, which is the only meat worth eating, as it is marinated with garlic. The pork, meh, prawns, not very fresh, other unknown meats like liver, not everyone eats. Meh. Veggies? Some mushroom and greens, eggs, and vermicelli for cooking in the soup portion. What I didn’t like about this place is that the soup portion of the mookata is teensy, and the meat in the set isn’t spectacular. I did like their homemade chilli **a lot**. That chilli, dip all your meats and veggies and pour it over rice, with extra raw chopped garlic mixed in for more oomph. Would I come back? Maybe, a $ 45 set for 3 people wasn’t super filling, but you probably don’t want two sets. The chilli was yum so maybe…

I went there with a good of friends yesterday and it was quite a worth of deal because the meat was good. However, the prawns were not too fresh. At the same time, they served only tiger and heneiken and not singha beer. It’s a bit strange. Make sure you order a big seafood platter and wear casual as you will have all the smell after leaving the place.

Mookata is my favourite thai steamboat. I’m a advert steamboat lover… I have introduced a few friends here and they fall in love with it too. This mookata is located at Golden Mile Beach Road Level 1. The charcoal is the key … the food is well barbecue and it smell so nice and its really yummy. Recently, they have change the style and its no longer using charcoal anymore. The food is cooked slower dan usual and it not so nice anymore. I love the chili and its really very nice … I will visit this place again but not as often …
