I’ve only go-karted a few times in my life so I’m not really a connoisseur. This seems like a pretty good circuit and the cars were fun enough. Pretty safe and professionally done, I had a good time tearing around this track with a bunch of colleagues. Only problem is location. JURONGWEST? Grah. May as well go to JB.

I brought a lot of attitude and swagger to Ladies’ Night at Kartright. I had Saliva’s «Click Click Boom» playing in my head as I took a seat and checked out the competition… already contemplating how I would pose on the winner’s block… maybe kissing the guns? Stewie Griffin’s motto came to mind, «Victory is MINE!!!» In short, I was a completely overconfident and richly deserved to have my ass handed to me… and damn, wouldn’t you know that half the girls in attendance were ridiculously good drivers… even when I completely laid off the brakes and scored nearly perfect racing lines, they were beating me by two seconds per lap(major lead in karting)… And so, I went home defeated, but I did manage to make some friends once I returned to my humble self ;) The course is highly technical and is a lot of fun to drive! Rental karts may not be as fast as the official racing karts, but they were plenty fun! PARTINGTHOUGHT: Might have to start watching the weight so I can start winning!!! Ladies, be sure to bring some tissues as the ladies’ room lacks TP!

The only karting track we have in Singapore, Kartright is the place to go to let off some steam and push your limits. The track is top-notch and well-designed and the staff there are very accomodating, friendly. Safety is a big priority there so be sure to pay attention to the briefings they conduct before you hit the gravel. Karting at kartright is definitely a must-try given the limited activities we have for recreation here in Singapore.

I went here this afternoon, not expecting much — and was blown away. Who knew go-karting could be this fun?! I made the mistake of stopping at Jurong East MRT when it’s actually 5min walking distance from Joo Koon MRT, and located within Arena Country Club. It’s pretty easy to spot. You have to sign up as a member(membership costs $ 35) and then top-up an additional $ 5 for your first 10minute ride(so essentially your membership is off-set by the ride). After that, each 10minute session costs $ 40 on weekends, and $ 35 during off-peak weekday periods. If you come on the weekend, the track is open for free-riding after 12pm. Everyone gets helmets and hair nets and then 2 min instruction(right is accelerate, left is brake, avoid the exhaust pipe!) and you’re off! Before I went I asked the guy what the maximum speed for ordinary go-karts was … he told me around 50−60km/h which seemed really lame to me… but sitting so low on the ground makes you really feel the speed when you press the pedal and the sharp corners make it so much fun. I could’ve done the lap over and over again. While the track was small, it was definitely worth the adrenaline-pumping $ 40 for 10minutes. They also do corporate sessions with proper races, timings and things which I wish I could afford. I’ll definitely be back! P/S: Remember to bring your IC /passport as you’ll need proof to sign up as a member
