SHUTUPANDTAKEMYMONEY. So many beautiful things in this shop. Not sure what I like more– the hip clothing? Comfy looking flats? One of a kind purses? Silly items like the ostrich pillow? Truly Singaporean totebags saying things like«Buona Vista Social Club»? Or the funky jewelry on display? Things here aren’t cheap, but they’re well designed and good quality(as they should be, after all they are located within the National Design Centre.) Not everything is made in Singapore, but the overseas brands they do choose to feature are avant-garde. For once, I wished there was a store employee that asked me if I needed any help– I wanted to try one of the shoes but couldn’t find anyone on the floor. Other than that, I will be sure to return on pay day!

Hipsters rejoice! Here lies a cove of carefully-curated, artisanal products sourced from all over the world. Notice how much hipsterspeak I managed to put in one sentence. But anyway, design design DESIGN seems to be all the rage nowadays(not that it never was important for things to look nice, but I don’t recall there being as many places with piles of coffee table books and artistically-placed products say, 5 years ago. This one takes the cake because it’s in the National DESIGN Center. It’s like the Government-mandated centre of cool. Though I’d be inclined to think that the building itself is rather boring after 2 visits(the first time I was there, they were giving out helium balloons with flashing rainbow lights, so that wasn’t really counted), this shop makes it worth a visit or two. Or ten. Oh how I love walking through this store, with all its nice knickknacks arranged on tables and shelves. From bags to clothes to random accessories, I WANTEDITALL. If only everything wasn’t in the range of the hundreds. Santa are you reading this?
