June restaurant has moved out somewhere and in its place now, another seafood restaurant. Anyone who knows where June has moved to, please enlighten us.

The best deep fried pork knuckle in Singapore. Better than Paulaner, Brotzeit, le chasseur. Also good is the crispy bee hoon. This is a simple tze char with quite a following for its specialities. Best visited when it’s not raining and you can dine alfresco. Easy parking at the Canadian School public car park down the road.

Vegetables were fresh, generous portion of hotpot tofu(very cute cubed tofu!) and the fried rice was yummy. Will definitely be back again! Realised many tables were having crab… so will definitely be back to try that!

Popular with foodies in the East, June Seafood serves up a variety of great tasting dishes at affordable prices. Usually packed during dinner, we were told that we had to try their Assam Fish Head if we were ever there for dinner. And that’s what we did. While their signature dish was decent, it didn’t blow us away. What created an impression, for me at least, was their Special Fried Tofu. Topped with greens before being deep-fried and sitting in a luscious black bean sauce, the tofu is deliciously crispy yet soft in the middle, just the way I like it! The pumpkin prawns(not a fan of pumpkin) were really good as well. The curry leaves and red chili mixing perfectly with the pumpkin paste. Parking, like all other joints here, is a hassle, so be sure to get there early or you’ll find yourself driving around for quite a bit.

Came across this eatery when a friend was organizing a meet up. I am rather familiar with Tg Katong but never knew this zhi char place existed until recently. The place looks like a rather rundown coffee shop but the quality of the dishes were rather spectacular. I left the ordering of dishes to the friend who recommended the place and I was pleasantly surprised. The two dishes that keep me coming back for are the fried crispy vermicelli and the deep fried pig knuckle with thai chili sauce. The two dishes are done to perfection! I will definitely come back for more.

Junes sells your typical Cze Char. You got all your seafood dishes or fried dishes. But there are some dished that will blow your mind. Three of us went there last night, and we had, crispy fried vermicelli, pig trotters, and salted egg yoke prawns. This meal was one of the best cze char meals I have ever had in Singapore. The vermicelli was fried to a crisp, and then covered in the ‘hor fun’ gravy, not unlike what sheng mian is like. The noodles are still crisp, but soften has it absorbs the gravy. very interesting textures. The pork trotters are also fried crisp, very tender and moist, served with a sweet sour chilli sauce, which goes very well with the slightly heavy fattening meat. When the prawns where served, i was slightly disapointed that they were not shelled. However, they were fried in such a way that they shells were very brittle, and could be eaten together with the flesh. Very tasty salted egg yolk. Very yummy. Can’t wait to try their other dishes!
