JSSL Arsenal Soccer Academy

JSSL Arsenal Soccer Premier Sports League is arguably the most elite football (i.e., soccer) league in Singapore. The coaching is terrific, and Harvey, the owner, is quite dedicated. The quality of talent of both the coaches and the kids who attend is high. The only issues are: practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays start at 6PM and are at UWC Tampines in the East. That can be a huge commute and very time consuming for the travel alone if you don’t live nearby. The games and Saturday practice are also on the East Coast — at Victoria Junior College. In addition to the travel times, the fees are quite high. Even with a kid who’s seriously interested in soccer, it’s quite a commitment. We looked at three different soccer academies as well, including two situated at Turf City, and we decided to try out JSSL. We did it for a term, and then we had to stop because of the commute.
