It has been a while since I last ate here. I am surprised it is still around as it is very common in Singapore for F&B establishments to either close shop or relocate due to rising costs. So I am glad it has survived for the last 10 years or more. The noodle is still good. I will skip the Gold version(addition of abalone and fried wantons to regular) and just go for #2 on the menu board next time. You need to add the chili for a bit of oomph. It is not that spicy but go easy on the chili if you cannot take spicy food. The food arrives quickly and service is focused on efficiency.

I would say this is the best noodle i ever had in singapore… It tastes very close to indonesian type of noodle. When it comes to noodle, i want only to come to this place.

Have been there a few times with no issues. However, the last time I was there, a friend had a baby stroller and the staff made it very difficult to accommodate the stroller. They actually gave us a table in the middle. Very child unfriendly indeed. They obviously didn’t welcome customers with very young children. So, a few minutes after sitting down and looking through the menu, we decided to walk out, as no kolo mee is worth bad service. Their kolo mee was never super tasty to begin with. With bad service, it just gave me more reason not to ever return again. Thumbs down all the way.

Isn’t kolo mee of Malaysian origin? If so, why does the eatery look like a set out of a kung fu tea house movie such as the Dragon Gate Inn? Ok I digress. Back to business. The noodles are reminiscent of wanton mee, but curlier and springier. I was suckered into trying their duck version, and I was quite«eh?’ about it but went ahead anyway. No regrets here, as the duck slices were generous and tender. Added in a side of deep fried wantons, and needless to say, could not clean everything up. Not too expensive, not superbly cheap, and the soup on the side comes in the traditional chicken bowls that I hardly ever see these days.

I have nothing much to complain about the noodles here, i ordered the jia xiang mee. Thin noodles dry tossed in seseme seed oil, pork fat and something else which i cant identify, I think its soy. Served with char siew, mince meat, prawns and dumplings. It all comes together pretty well. Only gripe is that the serving is puny, and it cost 6.50, which is really way too much, i think most of it goes into the prawns, and i think they should just have a cheaper option without them.
