Not sure if I was here on a weird night, or if my tolerance is just increasing. Cocktails weren’t strong enough. Heh. Flavour and service was great though. Adored the ambience and music, they really do know the right tracks to play. Came early on a Wednesday night so the place was gloriously empty. Food options are a solid 4.5÷5. Even for a vegetarian like me. Fantastic presentation and taste. We had potato balls, truffle fries(total win!) and beef sliders. LOVED the fries. They could probably rival PS: Café’s. Still three stars though, because y’all really need more fun stuff in those cocktails.

Jekyll & Hyde is one of my favorite bars in Singapore and I like to bring visitors here. No, it’s not one of those fancy hotel bars or rooftop bars with a view but I love its intimacy and creativity. They seem to have switch to the no-menu thing on my recent visit and you just tell them your preference of flavors and ingredients. This is all fine except they removed my favorite drink from the menu — the watermelon ume. Hopefully they will bring it back some day. I had the soya bean cocktail instead, it tasted exactly like the soya bean drink you get from the hawker stalls and I found that very amusing and a large part of the reason why i like to bring visitors here. Drinks are not cheap but not appalling by singapore standard. On week nights there are less people and is ideal for a quiet and relaxing conversation.

When we went there, they were doing ‘No Menu’ service. So just needed to tell what I felt like and what liquor I preferred. Somehow the cocktails came out were more than perfect!!! One of the bast bars in my life. Love this bar! Will def come back when I come back to Singapore!

Pretty chill bar on a very trendy Tras Street in Tanjong Pagar. Every other bar, café, restaurant on this street was jam packed when I trekked up for a drink on a Wednesday night so I thought I was in for a long night of imitating a sardine. Much to my surprise when I found Jekyll & Hyde(first and only time I’ve frequented the joint) I was really surprised to see the venue was completely empty. Likely because it was ladies night and Jekyll didn’t have any drink specials for the ladies. Their drinks are pretty pricey at the $ 22 to $ 25 range per cocktail. The ginger negroni and old fashioned cocktails I had were okay but nothing out of this world. Hopefully the night I came was an anomaly otherwise their days might be numbered!

Pretty solid cocktail bar on Tras Street. There’s a lot of dranky drank spots to choose from in this area, but I’m fond of Jekyll & Hyde because I find them a lot more low key. They usually have a seasonal or themed menu(a while back I remember them having a «Seven Deadly Sins» theme) and I most recently discovered that they have«The Vault of Fame», which are their most popular cocktails to date. One of my faves off the Vault is their Strawberry Manhattan. The strawberry might make it seem girly, but it’s damn good and strong like Beyonce. They also do infused alcohols; I’m all about their shiitake mushroom infused whisky though I think they’re now playing around with other varieties of mushrooms. Definitely enjoy it neat if you order it! And of course, if none of those interest you, they do bespoke as well. On weekends this spot can get busy, so if you want more attention and better service, I highly recommend coming here on weeknights. I’ve chatted with various staff members here, and they are all such lovely people to have a conversation with. The prices still make me cry a little inside(expect to pay around $ 25 per drink) but considering the ingredients they have and that it’s Singapore… I’ll let it slide.

I, and everyone I’ve sent here, are definitely fans. It’s not a big space, I wouldn’t say more than 30 seats ish, and the acoustics aren’t great so the space can get pretty noisy on a busy night. I’ve never actually ordered from the menu, and I’ve been a fan of Jeff’s creativity since he was at Bar Stories. I recently got to talk to Justin, the other bartender, and he’s been awesome as well. I really wouldn’t bother ordering anything off the menu, because I find the guys are as excited to try something new as you are. Personally, anyone that likes a sweet drink will love the Mr. Bean, which is a soy bean curd shaken with a butterscotch alcohol of some sort. Milky, sweet, and absolutely delicious, it goes down very easy. I also love the things they do with fruits like mangosteen, or floral flavours like hibiscus. Jeff also let me try a house-infused Yamakazi that absolutely blew my socks off. Smoky, earthy, it was incredibly unique. Time after time I’ve either dropped by for drinks, or made this the entire point for being out, and I’ve never been disappointed.

I had wanted to try this bar for a while now because of all the hype it’s been getting. I have to say that the service blows. Usually I don’t complain about service, especially in Singapore, but I would think that if you are paying over 20 bucks for a cocktail, the service should at least be tolerable. I came here for a drink after dinner, and when we entered the bar, the tables were all empty save for a single table with a couple. The hostess brusquely told us that ALL the tables were reserved and we could sit at one of the tables but we have to get out in 20 min. I was like«excuse me?» and she compromised by letting us have a table which was reserved for 40 min later. When the party came for the table 25 min later(they were early), instead of accommodating them on another empty table, the hostess was like«hey you guys have to move to the standing side of the bar, our party is here». At this point, there was at least 15 empty seats in the restaurant. We just paid and left. I just cannot believe that this quality of service exist in a place like this. OK, rant aside, let’s talk about the drinks. We had the mangosteen martini and the greed drink which was supposed to be made up of ume and a fruit juice concoction of 7 different fruits. The presentation of the cocktails were great, and the delicate flavor of the elderflower in the perfectly chilled martini really did it for me. The ume-fruit drink was more of a disappointment. While I do appreciate the fact that it tastes fresh and not so sweet(I hate sugary sweet cocktails), it does remind of the carrot juice that pokka sells. In general, if the service had not been so appalling, I would definitely go back, but in this situation, the cocktails were great, but not that great for me to forgive the service.
