This was our first timing trying Itacho. Though the menu is limited the food tasty and fresh. The service is also very good. We will definitely come back.

Limited menu with sushi price at an average of $ 2 but only a single piece serve. Not many options for udon or soba which is disappointing because their udon is good. Seating is slightly cramp but the servers are helpful and friendly.

I normally frequent the Itacho in Ion. Since I was in Tampines for a meeting, I figured I would give this Itacho outlet a try to see if the brand is consistent around the island. I was lucky to come in a little bit before the lunch rush. I was seated quickly at the bar, and the first thing I noticed was that they offer set lunches during the weekdays! This was news to me, as I always go to Itacho on weekends. Miguel and I always run up the bill when we’re here, so I decided to try their lunch sets to save a little money. Ranging from $ 9.90 — $ 12, they offer dishes like bento boxes, 5 piece sushi sets, and«don» dishes(umm… basically sliced fish over rice… is there another way to say this? Haha.) I placed an order for the $ 12 «Ume» set, which came with 5 pieces of aburi sushi, 2 warship pieces, a piece of a roll, steamed egg, and miso soup. I also ordered 1 fatty salmon sashimi, just to see if the raw fish was up to par. The aburi sushi turned out pretty good; there was only one piece that I thought was too fishy for my liking. Sadly, I’m not sure what it was, but it definitely wasn’t salmon. The 3 extra pieces, miso, and steamed egg also turned out okay, but nothing to Unilocal about. However, I was quite pleased with the fatty salmon; it was fresh and I almost want to say it was TOO fatty. But that’s a good thing! This time around, I didn’t experience any delays in getting my food. I still stand by my tactic of ordering everything at once, because when the influx of people come in, it’ll be really difficult to get second orders in! Though not the best sushi ever, this passed my standards and I wouldn’t mind eating here again if I was in the area and there wasn’t a queue.

By far the worst sushi joint I have eaten at in my whole life. Went there because of the hype that their opening promotion generated. My table of 7 people individually opened our own bills to make payment easier. Service-wise, the staff got almost all the orders wrong, delivering the wrong kind of sushi or not delivering certain orders at all. We had to constantly remind the staff of our missing orders. When queried, most of them(obviously part timers) replied with an unprofessional«I also don’t know». Taste-wise, the food was mostly crap. Salmon sashimi was okay at best, there was this unexpected and highly unappetizing egg and crab meat thing that landed on our table when we didn’t order anything of the sort, and worst of all was the pork curry rice which consisted of 3 flat pieces of pork and curry with no taste. Overall, the place is a really bad place to eat, don’t get fooled by the long queues outside. High prices paid for pathetic serving sizes and tasteless food. no value for money at all. What could we expect, I guess, from a place that sold their sushi at 0.40 a pop?
