I’m always cynical around tailors because of so many hustling you for poor materials and quality of sewing. Somehow Iris sits between all these dodgy places in Lucky Plaza, yet they are a world apart.
I was about to relocate from Singapore to the US (I’m an Aussie) and had a 2 week turnaround period, Nani worked hard to make sure this happened and if it didnt then she would send me all the clothes. I was hesitant because I wasn’t excited about leaving money for goods that will be sent overseas but I thought why not, ultimately I had to fly out without the suits but they arrived safe n sound 2 weeks later in California.
I’ve given 5 stars solely on the suit and shirts because that’s what it should be about, if you urgently need the suit within 2 weeks you might go elsewhere and pay a lot more but if your patient for excellent quality craftsmanship for a very reasonable price then this spot is great. I’ve had tailored suits made in India, Thailand and the US but none of those places beat the value here. India and Thailand actually don’t compare in quality, and the US suit is great (as good as Iris) but cost at least 50% more.
Highly recommended for good value top quality fully canvassed suits, I’ve been told numerous times already that my suit is outstanding quality and fit, and people are disappointed when they realize they have to fly to Singapore for one but if your flying through or you live in SG then go here for a great suit! Nani is also wonderful to deal with and a great character.

Nani is my tailor and my family have been going to her for years (since her Katong Mall days). She is super friendly and has real skill in making clothes. As such, this is an extremely popular shop. Unfortunately I’m only going to give her 3 stars because she gets so busy sometimes the clothes take a VERY VERY VERY long time to finish…
However, she is extremely helpful and tapers a lot of my clothes, and has also designed a few pairs of work pants for me. She is very experienced in her field and is helps you with the styles.
Also she’s always happy to rework something if you’re not too satisfied with the outcome.
Price –wise, as I’ve known her for awhile, I’d say she gives me an affordable price — at least market rate and is open to bargaining!

At Iris Tailor, they can tailor a brand new suit with custom measurements for an affordable price. As the suit takes shape, you return for multiple fittings so you know the work is quality and fits well, unlike tailors that promise a new suit within days — that’s just a poor excuse of a tourist trap.
Look for Nani, a bubbly lady with tons of personality who knows what she’s doing. Her conversations with you as she takes your measurements are a testament to her years of experience, especially helpful to those without knowledge of fabric or fashion design. She is well-​versed with fabrics suitable to our climate.
For alterations, she is usually able to get it done within a week or so. She gets busy so she might not be able to take on last-​minute work but do check with her. She tapered my store-​bought jacket to fit me better and I was quite satisfied with her work.
