Ice Cube Cafe

I had the rum and raisin mud pie and it was awesome. Big enough for two. It’s essentially ice cream with an oreo-​type crust at the bottom. Nice place to chill out too. There was a small section at the back of the restaurant with couches. It’s a stone’s throw away from the chomp chomp food court.

The mud-​pies are the best ($ 12 each)! Few places in Singapore serve them so I am glad I found this place.

Ambiance
— A bit squeezy for a big group (6 or more).
— The bar is lit with a neon blue lighting (supposedly to look like ice).
— They have an inside sofa area but it’s a bit too dim for my liking.
Service
— Mainly self-​service (get your own water etc)

The Ice Cube outlet is one of the favourite spots for my BFF and I to chill out at. We’re small eaters so we usually head there around opening time (luckily they open earlier on Sundays) for a late lunch, which usually involves both of us ordering a dessert each and maybe a side to share just for munchies.
The inside area has a little room with 3 sets of tables with long couches — we’ll usually each take one to lounge on and spend most of that afternoon chitchatting while we eat dessert for lunch.
My usual dilemma is about whether I should order the mudpie or a sundae — I’m quite partial to the cookie monster mudpie (oreos galore), or the milo dinosaur eggs (2 scoops of icecream wtih a lot of milo powder, yum), though one of the interesting concoctions they have is the ‘Magic Potion’, where your ice cream comes wtih a shot of alcohol in a fancy test tube to pour.
The food menu changes quite a fair bit — there’s a lot more food now than before, and is decent; you’re not looking for gourmet food at an Ice Cream place after all. One of its other perks is that it opens till quite late, so after steaming it up at Chomp Chomp, you can pop over here to cool down and relax till late.
