Not for shrinking violets as it backs onto the world famous FFoW on Orchard Rd but if you find a pew out front then you are protected by the moat and railings that separate the pavement from the early evening wildlife passing by on their way to debauch in Orchard Towers. Take a seat indoors and you are likely to get approached by the resident Thai girls but they understand ‘No’ and will back off and give you elbow room to get your beer on. As far as Guinness goes they serve a good pint and the outside table service is generally fast but will slow down as tables start to fill up. I loved this place for the live band headed up by one of the most famous ‘trannies’ in Singapore. Weird looking in a ballgown and bald head but has a serious set of lungs and can sing it ‘long time’. Upsides, Harry’s has their own HPL(Harry’s Premium Lager) by the bottle which is not too dusty and pick up your own Harry’s loyalty card whilst you’re there to get a 20% discount every time you settle your bill. The card is good for all Harry’s bars around Singapore(25+ and counting) but don’t forget to put some cash on it before you start! Downsides, food is not great and you have to go next door if you need to ‘break the seal’ but hey! it’s Singapore and that’s the way it is in most spotz. If you are from afar and love your footie then Harry’s has wide screen TV’s(not referring here to the Trannie singer) scattered about the place so you can watch away to your hearts content and if there is no game on then just lean backand behold as the late night mayhem ensues around this area and the working Girls set about reeling in the flailing drunks staggering around the Towers. This is truly a sight to set your giggitty off … teehee
