I’ve been to Gong Cha many times while living in Hong Kong and have strongly missed milk tea since moving to Japan. So when I saw Gong Cha, I immediately decided I wanted to get my milk tea fix. Their menu is a lot smaller than the Gong Cha I frequent in HK. Maybe 1⁄6 of the options. I ordered the Alisan Milk Tea which is Alisan tea with a heavy milk mixture on top. The sticker on the old says you can sip the tea through the milk froth without a straw(nasty! Don’t do that) or slurp tea followed by milk through the straw or stir it. I just let the milk slowly dissolve on its own and drink as normal. Poor service under pressure during rush hours. to be honest it wasn’t even that busy but I waited over 15 minutes for my drink. During that time, I saw them make 3 wrong orders. Even if I wasn’t leaving Singapore today, I would honestly say I won’t be back. At least not to this location. The girls working were nice enough but didn’t seem to know what they were doing and had poor communication skills.

I don’t understand what the fuss is all about. In Hong Kong i saw Gong Cha at a lot of locations, in Singapore i saw them and gave in. I got the Milk tea alisan. i have now idea what it is but it was flavorless to me. It was watered down in my opinion. It tasted like regular milk tea but with no sugar and more ice. Maybe i ordered the wrong thing or maybe the waitresses wanted to get off right at 11p.m. but i was disappointed in my drink. Though compared to the charlie brown café, the drink here was better. Is it sad for me to say that i think that Quickly was even better? Maybe a 2nd chance might be better.

I like the occasional bubble tea and Gong Cha does deliver up consistently decent cups. If you can help it though, you might want to skip this particular outlet which is always crowded with long snaking queues blocking the corridor. Not that it’s particularly better or worse than other outlets, but it’s probably the most crowded outlet all the time!

I’m a big Gong Cha fan and if I ever crave bubble tea, only Gong Cha will do it for me. The honey milk tea is my favourite and, deoending on how I feel that day, I will get it with either pearls, brown crystal jelly or ai-yu jelly. I tried getting pearls and brown crystal jelly together but i wouldnt recommend it. Too many flavours going on and your cup is basically only half filled with tea. But yes, the brown crystal jelly is really quite something. YUM.

When this place first opened, the lines went on forever. People were crazy about it — and when I tried it, I though, well, it does taste pretty good — but there are other places that sell pretty okay Bubble Tea too. It’s good, but I always felt the lines were a little too crazy. You still get lines at their outlets — but it’s not as insane as it used to be. What I Love: Their Green Tea Bubble Tea is good. There are quite a few types you can get, quality of milk, level of sweetness — and for that, I love this place. You can make the type of Bubble Tea you want. It doesn’t have to be sickly sweet. And it doesn’t have to be too milky too. So, you’re your own Bubble Tea creator. What I Don’t Love: The prices can get a little steep. It’ll set you back $ 4-$ 5. Compared to other Bubble Tea places where you can get one for $ 2 or so.
