Fish & Co.

I can’t remember a time before Fish and Co. burst onto the scene where a restaurant focused solely on fish and chips and other seafood. But since it did, it has always been an option in my consideration when I’m looking for some place casual, affordable and with decent seafood.
Okay so it isn’t gourmet by any standard. The fish and chips come in a number of variations — the New York fish and chips for example has parmesan cheese stuffed beneath the batter. Recent additions to the fish and chips line-​up include Singapore fish and chips with a chili crab sauce. The swordfish collar seems to be a favorite with diners but I’ve heard it is very fishy and is an acquired taste. Other than those, the platters offer variety while the mussels in lemon butter sauce and grilled calamari remain my favorite appetizers.

It’s been a long while since I last visit Fish & Co. and I did so just recently. I was pleasantly surprised by the updated menu, with many more choices and items that didn’t used to be on the menu (e.g. silver bait). However, I wasn’t that pleased when I saw the hike in price. But I guess that’s unavoidable these days since the effect of inflation is everywhere.
Nonetheless it was a decent meal at Fish & Co. However it could have been better if the staffs were more attentive. And it seemed like they were a little short-​handed although it wasn’t very crowded. It took them very long to react to our waving and ‘excuse me’. Good change to the menu, but seriously need to work on their service.
