When they first opened for business few years back, I took note of them, their business was good, people queueing and flocking into the restaurant. Recently due to curiosity as to why there’s so many customers especially students eating in this restaurant, my mum and I went for the 1st time. Their staff are thoughtful and polite. In what way are they thoughtful? I ordered a blueberry waffle, salmon fillet set and beef bolognese and their staff asked me if I want my blueberry waffle to be served later and I replied Yes because there’s ice-cream on the blueberry waffle which will melt if I eat my beef bolognese first so it’s best to serve later. In what way are they polite? When I requested them to serve my blueberry waffle, they politely replied that they would serve it immediately and not giving me impatient look implying ‘Hey can’t you see I was serving this table, can’t u wait ’ No, 18 chefs’ staff DON’T give me this kind of lousy attitude. Besides I am satisfied with their staffs’ service attitude, I am also satisfied with their payment system. Normally in some restaurants, u will pay up after u finish your dinner but in 18 chefs u pay up first after u order their food, this is good as we don’t need to queue and pay up after we finish the dinner. After finish the dinner, we just ‘hit our buttock’ and go off so convenient. The restaurant staffs don’t need to take note who hadn’t paid yet after customers finish their meals which made the staffs’ work more easier. There’s NO7% GST&NO service charge & with NTUC card there’s discount too, thumbs up up up. However, there’s rooms for improvement : 1) The whipped cream for the blueberry waffle tastes bland, can be sweeter a bit. 2) In the beef bolognese, the beef are in minced meat form which makes the whole spaghetti appearance dull, if the beef are in medium-sized beef balls form(minimum 3 balls) will be nice. 3) Should implement a restaurant rule that any customers who doesn’t finish up their ordered food and drinks will have to pay a fine of $ 50 perhaps to prevent wastage of food & drinks. I personally saw a student couple who couldn’t finish up their food and drinks yet they ordered the food and drinks, what a wastage they should take a look at Africa children who are starving without food. Lastly, I like to add in that 18 chefs cups are unique, u can take note if it’s your 1st time going there. I will not upload any photos from my experience in 18 chefs as at time I am too hungry, forgot to take photos before eating, hahaha but never mind I will definitely revisit 18 chefs when the time comes.

Yay for the fast service and chiming on Mel’s review, it was interesting to find it opens till 2.30am on weekends! Ordered the Tom Yum Oglio Pasta. Saw the 2 chill sign and thought I was able to eat that. Was totally wrong. Ate half of my pasta and couldn’t even gulp in the seafoods on the plate. Had to gulp down ice lemon tea after eating half of the pasta piece by piece. Will skip the spicy menu in the future. We were in and out within ½ hour. That includes the time to queue to pay, get our food, and finish our food. Mel’s dish seemed more appetizing than mine. Will try that next time. It is located next to the Cathay — AMK hub so if you are hungry for a quick bite, do drop by this open-concept restaurant/café. The servers also clean after the customers pretty quickly and therefore we need not really wait for the seats. The food presentation was colorful but you really need to choose the right dishes here. Great choice of food Mel! I think so far this branch is pretty well organized than the other branch I went. Will drop by here more often next time round :)

Eighteen chefs closes at 230am on a Friday night/Saturday morning! How awesome is that! At 10pm on a Friday night, Steff was worried we wouldn’t be able to find dinner. But EIGHTEENCHEFS was there for us! We sat down the service was amazing… They handed us the menu that was tucked under our table I ordered a cheeses baked rice with mushroom and Japanese curry and it was amazing. It’s my third time having Japanese curry cheese baked rice! It’s perfect and delicious every time and it arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. It was so quick in fact that I thought it was for another table!!! Steff got a seafood tom yum Oglio and wow was it spicy. She struggled to eat Half the plate of pasta and couldn’t even touch the prawns. It was a waste!!! :(she even skipped the cookies n cream ice cream. They had run out out of soup so it was an ice cream and iced lemon tea combo for a $ 3.30 top up. All in all a quick sit down meal. Pretty sure service here was way faster than mcdonalds lol!
