Don Dae Bak

Don Dae Bak is a small Korean BBQ restaurant located on Kreta Ayer Road. We discovered it nearly a year ago, and have been back at least 8 or 10 times. They offer both an ala carte menu and an all you can eat BBQ buffet. We always order the Buffet.
The small narrow shophouse space is lined with around a dozen round charcoal grill tables and padded round stools. At around $ 20 per person, it’s a great value for all you can eat Korean BBQ. There’s the usual selection of beef, pork and chicken all ordered from a menu and delivered to your table upon request. You cook the BBQ yourself, so it’s nice to not have a staff member hovering over you the entire meal. The staff is never far away, and they have a call button at each table if you need assistance.
The quality of the meats is better than what you might find at similarly priced restaurants. They serve a generous selection of side dishes with the BBQ, but note there is no self serve buffet bar like at some Buffets.
The Good: Charcoal Grill, Friendly Staff, Small Restaurant, Buffet meats are ordered from a menu and delivered to your table, If you’re not in the mood for Buffet, there’s a full ala carte menu.
The Bad: Because of the small size, it’s smart to call ahead and book in advance. Beverages are not included in the buffet price.
The Verdict: Plain and simple — When we are in the mood for endless amounts of above average quality Korean BBQ at affordable prices, this is the place we like to go.
