Meat is fresh and servings are plenty. Good starters as well. Authentic dishes from China. Price is reasonable. Place and ambience is average as the place is pretty small. Parking is a hassle as there is no carpark at the same building. Be prepared to walk if you were to drive.

was looking for a place to grab a quick bite before watching skyfall. stumbled upon this and was duly impressed. we didnt have enough time, so did not try their steamboat. instead we ordered their economical mutton noodle, mutton balls and mutton rib soup sets @ $ 7. all were served with their steamboat soup base. a milky mutton broth that did not overpower. for the noodles, generous strips of tender mutton came with thick vermicelli. the pickled mustard greens made it even tastier. a spicy version is also available. the mutton balls soup set came with homemade mutton balls. each packed with chopped chinese parsley, which may be a nightmare for some, but worked well to rid any unwanted strong mutton smell/taste. vegetables, thinly sliced tofu and tang hoon made it complete. the mutton rib soup set came with thick tender rib meat sans bone. their secret recipe spicy chilli flake gunpowder concoction will definitely please the hellish devils in you! add with caution. their cold dishes are must try. simple cool cucumber stalks with dried chilli and deadly sichuan peppercorn. crunchy, refreshing and numbingly good! ‘three shredded cold dish’ was finely shredded kelp, bean curd skin and carrot combo tossed in a light dressing. you can literally taste the sea via the kelp. kou shui ji was a spicy delight that guarantees you work up an appetite. simply steamed chicken smothered in a super spicy chilli sauce, garnished with roasted peanuts and sesame seeds then blanketed with chopped spring onions and parsley. the décor is retroish. old school coffeeshop setting but with air con comfort. they also have a couple of alfresco dining tables. for beverage, this is the only place i have discovered wang lao ji. a nice herbal drink that is really popular in china. something similar to jia jia liang cha here. the only think that irritated me a little was how they took away all the wet wipes because we didnt order steamboat!
