Make no mistake: there are two ferry terminals in Changi: the Changi Village one that takes you to Pulau Ubin and some beach in Malaysia, and the Changi Ferry Terminal that takes you to Tanjung Telungkor — also in Malaysia. It is confusing and even taxi drivers do not always know where to go. The Malaysia ferry takes about 30 – 40 minutes to get to Malaysia. In the evening, Tanjung Telungkor may as well be at the end of the world: there is absolutely nothing except for the terminal, so make sure you arrange transportation on beforehand! We were lucky to find Zaidi, who lives near Desaru Beach and who took us there(tel 60 – 137819081) at a reasonable price. Problem when you come back is the same as at Tanah Merah: no transportation(taxis only) miles around. And taxi companies do clearly not like to go out here: we had to walk back to Changi village(about 3 km!) to catch a bus. 15⁄08: I changed the rating, because you probably will never again find this leisurely paced rhythm to take a ferry from Singapore again: the cats are really boss in this lazy — in the right sense! — old terminal where mosquitoes buzz as if they have never heard about anti-mosquito measures. Worth making a movie in — but quick — this is disappearing soon.
