I absolutely adore this place! The menu radiates healthiness from its drinks to its mains. All their dishes are served with vibrantly colored ingredients and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat clean in SG!

While I am no gastronomist, I have a serious interest in exploring a variety of food. Most but not all of the time, I do faithfully seek out quality foods that pack less hazards — no trans-fat, low sodium, reduced sugar et cetra. Cedele is often one of my pick, on days when I needed a healthier meal. Apart from whipping up healthy mains, they offer quite a wide range of fresh bakeries every day. I was once a devotee but in recent years, I have cut down on wheat-based products for the sake of my bothersome allergic rhinitis(so my GP would be glad to hear). Daily, there are so many varieties to choose from. From their specialties — sourdough, rustic country, olive bread, batard, ciabatta; to wholemeal range — wholemeal bloomer or walnut and a few more. You may check out their daily bread schedule in case they are not baking what you wanted on that day. I love the pumpkin bread, oatbran & cinnamon swirl at all times. But today, I go for their sweet selection — orange & cranberry loaf and cranberry scone. The unification of a cake-bread that dish out a breadifying experience. More of a brioche, a light and fluffy texture with ultra rich butter and egg content. Plenty of dried cranberry fruits exist in every parts of this enriched bread but the orange citrus flavor is no where to identify. The sweet bread reminds of panettone without its dried mixed fruits, a tad over-sweet on the crust. Perhaps, it makes a good replacement for panettone during Christmas in four month’s time?

Love everything about Cedele in Ngee Ann City — the location, the fact that it’s never ridiculously crowded, the food, the service, the price(is there anything I haven’t mentioned?). Am always impressed when I go there. Its quite a cosy café, so the only down side is that the tables are situated really really close by together — making it a little awkward for a private conversation because you can hear exactly what the table next to you is talking about, and it’s really hard to get into your seat without bumping your neighbour’s table, but everything else makes up for it! Love that the soups all come with a free flow of bread from the bread bar, where you get to choose and try a few different assortments. The pastas here are really well done — cooked al dente, full of flavour and what’s more — their food is supposedly healthier than the food elsewhere. Haven’t done extensive research into it but you’re told that they don’t use preservatives, only organic brown sugar etc. by the place mats on your table. Although the main menu is fantastic, always leave room for dessert at Cedele — they have the most amazing assortment of cakes on display, and even cupcakes at this outlet. Personal favourites are their carrot cake, and the blueberry hazelnut cheesecake that can be summed up by one word — HEAVENLY.
