Stumbled upon this place across from Raffles Hotel after a very expensive Singapore Sling. The food was fantastic. One of my crew had lived I. Germany and another has a German born mother. My last name even means garlic in German so the standards were very high. My schweinhaxn was EXCELLENT. THE spätzle was the real deal and the German potato salad tastes like my grandmothers. The beer on tap was delicious. What an amazing surprise in Southeast Asia!

Good place to have some food and German beer. Wide selection of(German) food for both the sausage lover and health conscious.

Real German food and beer here. Do not be in a hurry here. Good wait staff that gets you what you need. The White asparagus is to die for. I really thought I was in Germany. The schweinshaxn is just like I was in Germany. I eat here three times in two days. I wish there was one of these in Cleveland.

Great place to chill in the afternoon or evening or night or whenever! It is definitely quieter in the afternoon but that makes it nicer since it is also not too noisy for conversations. I did not really eat here(those cold plate platter does not count) but I would think the food quality should be more or less the same as other branches. How wrong can you go with bratwurst and sausages? Besides the beer options, there are wine and mocktail and other non-alcoholic drinks. If you are a light drinker or not that into beer, the mixed beer option is good. I like the Russ’n which is Weissbier mixed with lemonade. There are other fruit mixes which should make the drink equally sweet. So non-beer lovers rejoice when beer/alcohol drinker friends suggest going to Brotzeit, we have something to drink there besides coffee and tea and soda.

After two weeks of Asian food and being late in the evening, I tried this German restaurant below my hotel. It’s an outdoor eatery with very modern touches. Lots of people ordered the schnitzel and seemed happy; the server had me try something that was saucey but not memorable. The people next to me ordered a pork knuckle that looked great. For a night of conversation with friends, it’s a place you can get into easily and have a decent meal.

I am from U.S.A. I went here on one of my first days back in Singapore after a long time. I love German food and the food was good. I lived in Germany for many years so I know German food pretty well. The service was most accommodating. My most memorable thought though was: WOW… CHINESEDIRNDLGIRLS! And secondly, I was literally shocked at the price of beer. I later found out that it’s pretty much that way all over Singapore. I was told that they lay heavy import duty on it to protect the one local beer, Tiger Beer. And even the Tiger beer is not that well priced. I will definitely go back next time in Singapore.

Good friends and I met for a nice Friday meal to kick start our weekend with good food and company! Between the 4 of us, we shared a platter and that’s good. We each had a portion of everything. As expected, the pork knuckle was nicely deep-fried. The assorted sausages also tasted good. Generally, I personally preferred the chicken ones over the somewhat porky-tasting ones. The lighter ales are also my favourite! I like how drinking much light ale just gives me a light buzz. I also discovered another drink that I now LOVE — Jäger bomb!!! This is another dangerous drink as the sweetness of the mix gives you the deception that you can down a plenty without getting slosh! Ladies, know your limit, else boys will gleefully take advantage of that situation. :/

the sausages were very well prepared, great taste. they came with sauerkraut, which were also very good. and the beer was excellent, lots of good choices. if you’re looking for good german food and drinks in singapore, look no further. i went with a couple co-workers after work. my german co-worker was quite pleased with the food and drinks. unfortunately we had to wait about an hour for a table, even though there were only 4 – 5 people in line in front of us. the place was packed! which is always a good sign. i guess it’s worth the wait if you are craving german food. it was slightly more expensive that expected though, but the quality of the food makes up for it.

Brotzeit loosing their touch? Just had the Chicken breast with mash potatoes. Verdict: Pretty close to terrible. Tasteless, with substandard appearance. The salad covered pretty much everything on the plate, and the salad itself was covered with some horrible creamy instant sauce. Yuk. Staff indifferent about feedback. Instead of looking into international expansion the management should look into quality and coaching of their staff. Probably my last visit. Prices have reached a level that one can seriously look into booking a flight to Munich as a viable alternative. And get the real deal.

Excellent brews, sort of weak vibe in terms of the mall plaza-like locale. Definitely a formidable choice if you are in the immediate area… otherwise, consider your options. There are plenty of them.

I don’t care what people say about mass-produced food. This place is my favorite place for sausages. Surprising fact: Cocktails are suitably strong.

This Brotzeit location is the one I visit most frequently and was always very satisfied with the quality of the food. The service is a bit hit and miss here, the Vivo City location is a bit better there. Sometimes I just need a nice ‘meal from home’ and the dishes from Brotzeit are the ones that come closest except I cook myself. Pork Knuckle is pretty good, one of my favorite dishes however are the Nuremberger Sausages with Sauerkraut, mashed potato and potato salad. I find this to be excellent price/value compared to what they charge at Brauhaus at Suntec. Also, Brotzeit now had branches in other countries like Hong Kong and Vietnam. I tried them and the food here in Singapore has been the best so far. I guess sourcing the good ingredients is much easier here than elsewhere. One thing I do not like is that the kitchen closes pretty early. Recently I wanted to order something at 11 and it was impossible. However they told me that only AFTER ordering beverages. Fail! Enjoy ~~ S

This is the first place I go when I get to Singapore. Drinking a proper liter of Paulaner dark really makes my day. The food here is also quite good. We have had a few birthday parties here, and they all went really well.

Thoroughly overrated I believe. Brotzeit offers your typical German fare with sausages, pork knuckle and sauerkraut. It seems like novelty in Singapore, but honestly you could go down to the butcher and have your own October fest at home, with better beer at least. Brotzeit serves house beer which is really poor and flat. I had 3 gulps solely to quench my thirst. The pork knuckle in general fascinates everyone but be warned, the meat is not tender but tough. It is only the skin that is probably enjoyable as it crackles with every bite. A place worth a try to silence the surrounding hype.

I can’t say I know their mains very well, I almost never eat here. I had the pork knuckle once. It was okay. But! A platter of cold cuts and other meats, and sausages, and a lot, a lot of beer = FTW! It’s one of the better places to drink in the main City Hall MRT area.

The place always looks lively when I walk past and I’ve always wanted to give it a try. And so I did. I met a couple of friends for dinner a few weeks back and ordered the vegetarian pizza(cos i’m on a budget and pork knuckle will kill my wallet). It ws pretty good. Never thought a german restaurant could serve decent pizza but they do and I definitely will go back for more!

My sister and I like to split a pork knuckle(crispy! porky!) between the two of us. I recently discovered their deep fried Camembert, which is also quite moreish. I know the point of Brotzeit is the drink, not the food, but they do make an effort – the lunch and tea sets are good value, and there are seasonal specials as well. I recently had something off their white asparagus menu that was quite commendable!

Every time I walk by this place — the energy is always buzzing — and the place looks fun and cool. I love the interior — the design’s really modern and cool looking. The place is always full — so I usually just sit by the bar — since I can never get a table. The staff are really friendly, the bar looks cool and their drink options are amazing! I’m not a beer person — but even I found their beer and cider pretty okay. What I Love: Their Spicy Potato Wedges are yummmyyyy. I’ve also tried their Spatzle and Jägermeisters — which are really good! The Salon fillet was fresh and yummy too, the ambiance is really nice — and I usually just enjoy sitting there and soaking up all the energy and people-watching. What I Don’t Love: Their prices are pretty steep. I had a couple of drinks with friends, each of us had a main, a tiny starter — and the bill came up to $ 238? The drinks are nice but for $ 15 a pop — you can’t be chuggin’ down much.
