To be fair, we only went there for desserts. My one star rating was mainly for the sad state of their waffles and ice cream. The waffle came with 2 scoops of ice cream with was decent. The main problem was the waffle! We could see something was not quite right when the waffle looked really brown. We didn’t smell any burnt smell so we thought maybe the waffle had some chocolate in it. This establishment is called Bricks n Cubes which was very apt to describe the condition of their waffles. Their waffles had the texture of a brick with small cubes cutout as design. We did raise the matter with their chef and he agreed to change our order for us. Unfortunately, the replacement waffles were no better and we thought as good gesture to make good of our dining experience, the chef would have at least also added a complimentary scoop of ice cream on the replacement waffle. But we were wrong. So we just ate as much of the hard, tasteless and unappetizing replacement waffles as we could(as we didn’t have anymore ice cream to soften anything). We didn’t want to waste food but the waffles were really quite quite sad… It’s quite sad as the establishment had the potential to be a really great place for adults and kids to eat & place but the food is so below par.

Lego and bricks provides a comfortable answer to the parent child divide. The premises offers LEGO toys for the creative kids and iPads for the kids of diminished social skills and, often, wider proportions. Food and beverages make this venue a convenient lunch and dinner stop as well as a place to break the days activities. Even during the holiday period, the café is quite quiet at offpeak hours. During offpeak hours mums and dads can set up for a coffee, can read a book, lounge, or work. The quality of the food is generally pretty standard, possibly lower than standard due to synthetic tasting burger relishes, but it fills a whole and the kids don’t complain.

Lego fans or finding a family friendly café around Orchard, time to stop by at this place. According to the website, it started its business in 2013. Maybe I did pass by here before but just walked away. Decided to give it a try on a Wednesday around 2pm. Since my friend and I were finding a place for wifi purposes and a place which offer some munch on goodies and wasn’t that crowded, we decided to ask one of the servers whether wifi is available here. And. The answer is Yes :) I also browsed along their ice cream and cake sections as well as glancing over the menu for beverage. Decided on getting the marshmallow ice-cream and summer peach tea. My orders came in a bit. The marshmallow ice cream is a little bit too sweet for my liking but it was a good combination with espresso shot — what my friend commented. The tea I’m not sure why but it is chamomile tea instead of the summer peach tea. It came in a teapot. Decided not to question the server further as there were other customers besides myself. The interior design — stunning. It has both indoor and outdoor open concept. There is also a corner where the kids can play with the lego pieces provided over the playmat. It is colorful so younger children will be attracted. There are also iPads with lego application games on it to play. On the wall, there are small lego characters in a display. There are some ready made legos at the corners of this café. My friend and I sat in one of the sofa like seats. It was good as it has dividers so we were able to talk about our itinerary easily. Overall, this is a great place to hang out and chill. Will probably try their main dishes in the near future.
