Bengawan Solo serves some great Indonesian desserts, some of which are pretty local as well. One such example is the rainbow kueh which you can find at your local market. Eat it layer by layer or eat it whole, I was never really sure if each layer tasted different but I enjoyed peeling of each layer. Another great treat from here would their pandan cake similar to the ones you get at Polar cakes. The luminous green cake is rich in pandan flavor and dusted off with coconut shavings. A cheap slice of cake that is sure to satisfy anyone!

As you know, I have a knack for the sweets-hence«sweet tooth». And Bengawan Solo never failed to satisfy my sweet cravings. What I love about their pastries is that it is moist, and not too sweet. Everything is just right. From the thickness of the layers, to the toppings. When I was introduced to this cake shop, I was hesitant at first because it has been a string of disappointments when it comes to me sampling sweet delicacies. When I tried their sticky rice cakes, it wasn’t tough and dry, it was soft, moist, and easy to chew. Needless to say, I enjoy my sundays with anything from Bengawan Solo. Not only they are popular for their pastries, their price tags are very likeable. As much as their dark red boxes.
